Man you get so spun out in these conversations.

Authoritarianism and wealth in the hands of the few at the expense of the many ain’t just a socialist thing. Ever heard of Pinochet, Milton Friedman and the Chicago boys?

You’re also apparently unaware that Trump has implemented socialist policies. Or maybe it’s ok as long as it’s your guy.

And I’m too old to be a gamer. But since your weed obsession isn’t working out I suppose that will be your next vector of attack rather than trying to stand on the merits of your arguments and level of comprehension.

Here’s your weekly moment of socialist zen from socialist Provence. :)

Because I have seen it, I have experienced it and I have dealt with it… face to face ….. not via some text book or moronic tweet

Why won’t you say that Venezuela and Cuba style socialism are oppressive and bad?

Is it because you have no empathy?
I’ve said it many times you degenerate. In fact, just a few posts up.

Here I’ll say it again. Venezuela and Cuba style authoritarianism is bad.

I’ve lived in the the socialist state of Washington my whole life. I’m also surrounded by socialist agriculture. My mom’s family mostly lives in socialist Canada where she was born. I’ve dealt with it my whole life. I’ve lived it. Probably longer than you have proclaimed to.

Is it socialism that is bad or the authoritarianism that it can lead to? Is the socialism of a typical Israeli Kibbutz oppressive and bad?

Is there any difference between how oppressive and bad rightwing and leftwing authoritarianism are?

I've said this before, ideology isn't a line, it's more of a circle. The extreme right and the extreme left share so many similarities that they meet at the bottom.

Kind of like how you can't criticize trump?

The authoritarian governments in Cuba and Venezuela are bad. They're not bad because they're socialist, they're bad because they're authoritarian.

The authoritarian governments in Russia, Belarus, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Turkmenistan, etc. are also bad.

Can you say that authoritarian governments are bad?

Or are you going to keep believing the kkkult teachings from the MAQA yahoo echo chambers that it's socialism's fault and that we need a strong authoritarian leader to defeat socialism?

If you wanna make that argument, that socialism is good, but dictatorship’s are bad, you should totally support Trump’s precision like extraction of the dictator Maduro

Because, according to you, Maduro was the problem and now socialism will thrive under a new government

Socialism in a perfect world is not a bad thing. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. People are greedy and ambitious. So while socialism works on a small scale like an Israeli kibbutz, when it's attempted on a large scale, that greed and ambition raises it's ugly head and you end up with apparatchiks and brutal dictators like maduro, stalin or mao.

They're not brutal or bad because they're socialist, that was just the path they followed to power. They're brutal because they're sociopaths who rose to to power and they're not that different from brutal rightwing dictators like hitler, pinochet, suharto, trujillo, putin, etc. I could go on but there are plenty of examples of brutal dictators who weren't socialists. Blaming everything on socialism is a MAQA canard.

Capitalism, while not perfect helps to channel people's ambitions toward the greater good and democracy helps to limit it's ability to rise to the level of authoritarianism (Adam Smith's Invisible Hand). Together, they are the best model for humankind today. It's unfortunate that trump appears to be trying to take us away from that.

You have no room to call out kalm for not focusing on socialism when saying that the governments of Cuba and Venezuela are bad.

Three things:

1) I'm nearing retirement soI asked myself what was a bigger concern missing out on a market increase or suffering through a drop. The answer was the drop. I would rather miss out on a gain than try to recover from a drop.

2)I've been right a lot more than I've been wrong about the market

3) For instance, I kept my investments in gold. How has gold done in the past year?

Or maybe all 3 are groups of fools. I can handle being called a fool. Can you and the other MAQA yahoos?

Mancommie slapped down..
Federal judge delivers Mamdani early legal setback on housing market intervention

Mamdani's administration had sought to slow the sale of the properties after tenants complained that the seller, Pinnacle Group, had poorly maintained the properties and were concerned that the prospective buyer, Summit Properties USA, would have similar issues.

Mamdani's administration attempted to intervene on the basis of being a creditor to Pinnacle. The company owes the city over $12 million in unpaid fines, according to Gothamist.

Bankruptcy Judge David Jones rejected Mamdani's effort, however, setting back the new mayor's first foray into NYC's housing market….

Wrong

There was a lot national debt talk back in the 80s, Newt worked with Slick Willie and they balanced the budget in the
90’s.

So at this point, everyone forgot or willfully ignored balanced budgets. That is acceptable to a point, but our politicians need to be re-elected so the debt took off again and now it’s an economic monster built on the foundation of a spoiled rotten society

It still originated with the theory of trickle down. That was based on a myth and followed by every administration and congress regardless of party since Reagan. Cut taxes on the rich, deregulate. Spend your way out of each recession. Repeat and rinse. (Also see the Two Santa Clause Theory.)

Nice on paper but we’ve been trying it for almost 50 years with an ever increasing debt and wealth gap despite increased worker productivity. It’s inarguable as a failure.
