There are many polls on this and the numbers will obviously change over time, but right now Trump is #1 all time…

Like I acknowledged in my post which you obviously missed …there are numerous polls on this. Most if not all have Trump at the bottom. Your horse. Your rodeo.

Polls are imperfect. But far more accurate than your assumptions. Oh…and they also change. Remember when Carter was leading Reagan? Or when Bernie was polling 10 points over Trump in 2016? Ooops. Wait…that was at election time.

I’m sorry you dislike analytics and information. But the street! Amirite?!?

And Reagan beat Carter

Bernie was ahead of Trump was he? Was that Poll conducted by an Ivy League professor in one of his classrooms?

Yes. Reagan beating Carter was part of my point. :ohno:

Here a quick reference. Can’t remember which legit polls had it close to the election but a couple did. Of course the main focus by then was the actual election as it drew near.

Feel free to research yourself.
Throughout the 2016 primary season, hypothetical head-to-head polls consistently showed Bernie Sanders performing stronger than Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump. Sanders often led Trump by double digits (e.g., +15 to +18 points in May 2016 polls), driven by high support among independent voters, while Clinton's matchups were much tighter.
Key 2016 Polling Findings:
National Matchups: In March 2016, a RealClearPolitics poll showed Sanders leading Trump by 17.5 points, while a CNN/ORC poll gave him a 20-point advantage.
Battleground States: Tulchin Research showed Sanders leading Trump in key industrial states in early 2016.
Independent Support: Al Jazeera noted that a major reason for Sanders' advantage was significant support from independent voters, a group that polls showed him winning by over 20 points in some matchups.
Comparison to Clinton: Politico highlighted that while Clinton often held narrow leads over Trump (e.g., +3), Sanders frequently held double-digit leads (e.g., +15) in the same polling cycles.
Despite these polls, Sanders supporters often argued that he was the more electable candidate, while supporters of Clinton argued that she had not yet faced the same level of opposition-party attack ads that Sanders had avoided during the primary. Ultimately, 12% of Sanders primary voters ended up voting for Trump in the general election, according to an NPR analysis of the Cooperative Congressional Election Study.

Everybody knows Bernie was ahead of Hillary, that doesn’t mean he was gonna beat Trump

Trump won that election by destroying the wicked witch in the debates

The Dems did run away from Bernie twice, once in 2016 with the superdelegates and again in 2020 with orchestrating pushing Buttigieg, Klobuchar, Bloomberg, and Warren out after Super Tuesday in order to all endorse Biden and cut off any pathway for Bernie. Bernie's chances in a general election will always be speculative as he's done running for President now. People seemed to like him a lot, until that is, when it came closer and closer to reality. Then the powers that be in the Democratic party, at least, got cold feet.

I also think it's closer to reality that trump won in 2016 because of general dislike for hildamort (she's as despicable of a person as trump) plus the FBI investigation into the private email server and the timing of comey's communications about them.

trump whines a lot about the timing of agencies doing things that hurt him but has he ever said a peep about the timing of comey's communications ?

It’s hard to tell what would’ve happened if Bernie was the nominee facing constant attack.

But he certainly was more appealing to voters (and has remained so) than Hillary. One thing about him is he hasn’t changed his positions since he was mayor of Burlington in the late 60’s. He stands by his principles.

IMHO it wasn’t America was not ready for Democratic Socialism yet. But party establishment and monied interests certainly were not. Thank you SCOTUs.
