Hey Klamdami
One down, the whole pyramid scheme to go
“A Minnesota woman who defrauded the federal government out of more than $325,000 in federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits was sentenced last week to a year in prison”

The US slips to its lowest-ever rank in a global corruption index
The United States has fallen to its worst-ever position in a leading global index that measures perception of corruption in the public sector among independent experts and businesspeople.
...
The US ranking has been on a downward trend for the past decade. It took another hit last year, when the Trump administration gutted the federal government’s ability to fight public corruption by pausing investigations into corporate foreign bribery and curtailing enforcement of a foreign agent registration law, among other measures.
Since returning to the White House, US President Donald Trump has also actively weakened institutions and deployed the tools of government against his perceived foes.
...
“We are very concerned about the situation in the United States,” Transparency International CEO Maíra Martini told CNN Tuesday. “This declining trend might continue.”
In a statement, Transparency International, a not-for-profit coalition fighting corruption, raised further alarm about the United States: “Although 2025 developments are not yet fully reflected, actions targeting independent voices and undermining judicial independence raise serious concerns.”
It added: “Beyond the CPI findings, the temporary freeze and weakening of enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act signal tolerance for corrupt business practices, while cuts to US aid for overseas civil society have weakened global anti-corruption efforts.”

MAQA MO - attempt to dismiss anything that makes trump look bad. There's a lot more data and detail behind this index then there is 99% of the garbage from libs of chinese spying app, rapid response, etc. but that doesn't stop you from pushing their "info".
The ABCs of the CPI: How the Corruption Perceptions Index is calculated
Each country’s score is a combination of at least 3 data sources drawn from 13 different corruption surveys and assessments. These data sources are collected by a variety of reputable institutions, including the World Bank and the World Economic Forum.
CPI scores do not reflect the views of Transparency International or our staff.
The CPI is the leading measurement for public sector corruption worldwide. Because it combines many different manifestations of corruption into one globally comparable indicator, it provides a more comprehensive picture of the situation in a particular country than each source taken separately. The process for calculating the CPI is regularly reviewed to make sure it is as robust and coherent as possible. This was done most recently by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in 2017.

Yeah the Fed could throw a couple hundred million to their way, AFTER MN reimburses the Fed for the several billion of Fed share of the Somali fraud.

Re: Fraud in the trump Regime
Selective outrage is true of so many things about trump/MAQA.“Of course,” he said when asked if it concerned him. “If the name were Biden instead of Trump, people would be screaming bloody murder.”
...
He went further. When pressed on whether the behavior was simply “not beneficial” to Trump’s agenda or outright corrupt, Shapiro responded: “Both, obviously.”
...
For years, Republicans screamed about the Biden family and foreign business ties. Now? When Trump’s wealth reportedly balloons by billions thanks to overseas investors, the outrage is… selective.
Shapiro said it himself: If this were Biden, it would be a five-alarm fire.
Instead, it’s just another day in Trump’s America — where grift is normalized, foreign money flows freely, and accountability depends on your party affiliation.

Let's be honest, this is certainly a both sides do it issue. The Dems screaming about Trump now looked the other way when Biden did it, and the MAGA folks screaming when Biden did it are quiet now. Not to mention the amazing ability of folks in Congress, on both sides of the aisle, to get really good at timing stock purchases and enhancing their wealth only after they win their seat in Congress. Corruption in the political class is pretty much a given nowadays.UNI88 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 2:37 pm

Re: Fraud in the trump Regime
While you might have an argument that the NY cases against trump were lawfare, the federal (i.e. biden administration) indictments of trump were justified, not lawfare.
The lawfare that trump has waged against his opponents, universities, states, etc. has been exponentially worse than anything that was done to him.
