So POC’s are incapable of this because of race? Or are there other factors?
Yes.

-Way to ignore the population difference I mentioned. 6+ million vs 340+ million over an area that’s about 180x as big (just Lower 48). There‘s this thing called scale. Maybe you have heard of it?

Also:
-Maybe if the US didn‘t have tens of millions of illegals/TPS/refugees/asylees,
and
-hadn‘t for 80 years been subsidizing Europe‘s social welfare state by paying for their defense, we could have some of ‘free‘ social welfare things you profess to love.
Meh. Baby steps. :coffee:

Oh…so then you’re for increasing funding of higher education since that’s where at least 50% of R&D comes from? And increasing taxes on big pharma as they're piggy backing off of it like those greedy Vikings?

As others pointed out.
-This tracks almost perfectly with the Boomer demographic bulge entering and leaving the labor force.
-This is useless information without also understanding what percentage of people own their own businesses (i.e. they aren't employed), and what percentage of people are retired.

And inflation adjusted wages are up since 1950.

Those are contributing factors that have been known for a long time. Economics is not static. You anticipate things and form policy in advance.

Regarding wages, that looks good as a stand alone number. hyperinflation in necessities that outpaces wage growth is ignored until it’s already become a problem. People can tighten their belts and choose not to buy the latest iPhone or gym membership. That’s not the case with healthcare or housing.

There is not enough demand from billionaires alone to drive the economy.

That is the case with housing.
Avg sq foot house 1950: 988 sq ft
Avg sq foot house 1950: 2,233 sq ft

People can also tighten their belts and buy a smaller home.

And they can‘t tighten their belts with health care without price transparency. Hospitals and doctors offices should have to post prices just like other businesses do so people can price shop/compare prices. You have car insurance, yet when you go to an auto repair place prices are still posted. Instead you have people going to get treatments/procdures have have no idea what things cost.

Hospitals and doctors are way down the list of causes regarding healthcare costs.

Housing is more than just square footage. It also ties into lending (buyers, builders, and developers) and demand for bigger and better to maintain standard of living.

Show me where in this quoted post I mentioned entitlement and selfishness.

But since you mention it, are you now suggesting that greed isn’t good? I agree. Does your opposition to greed only apply to home buyers and renters?

Do you understand how in an economy driven mostly by consumer spending, corporations and the investor class financially benefit from the greed of the working poor and middle class?

Price transparency isn‘t. If you don‘t know what something costs, aren‘t paying the bill, then who cares how much it costs. Thats the attitude of almost everyone with insurance going to the hospital.

If you’re car insurance was paying for your auto upkeep, you would go to the nearest garage, or place you thought did the best job, and would get every device/replacement/repair done to your car, whether your car really needed it or not. Because you wouldn’t know or care how much it cost, and wouldn’t be paying more than a deductible. You‘d never see the bill, or wouldn’t until weeks later, showing how much the garage charged your insurance company, and how much the insurance paid.

Not everything is about you, it was a general observation

You said …. Demand for bigger and better …

instead of taking a step back and asking can we really afford this right now?

All these dumb people probably have degrees but everybody has one now right?

Back in the 50s how many people had degrees compared to today?

ask yourself which generation is smarter…
