Democratic Governor Declares I ‘Don’t Want Socialists’ to ‘Destroy’ My State

Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) pulled no punches this week in jabbing the rising socialists within his own party in a reply on social media to a state representative criticizing his personal wealth. Colorado politics this election cycle have been among the most dramatic in the country (if not by far the most insane of any state), and Polis’s battle against the Democratic Socialists of America has added yet another dimension to the drama.

Following Zohran Mamdani’s (D) winning slate of DSA candidates in New York City, Denver voters ousted a 15-term incumbent Democratic Party congresswoman in favor of a DSA candidate in late June. Since that primary rocked Colorado politics, Polis has been warning about socialism as a “dangerous” policy for the U.S.

“Socialism dangerously concentrates political and economic power together. Government should be an independent check on the private sector, not the owner of it and not controlled by it,”…..

So the Dems are warring with the commies. I wasn’t sure considering how they also get blamed for being communist. :suspicious:

Is there even a communist party in the U.S.?

Do you think the commies will take over the Democratic Party the way the fascists took over the Republican Party?

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Jewish Michigan AG Says She Is Unsafe at Her Own Democratic Convention

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says she will skip the Michigan Democratic Party’s August convention because she believes she will be harassed, chased around, and booed off the stage by members of her own party.

Nessel, who is Jewish, made the announcement Thursday during an Anti-Defamation League roundtable on antisemitism in Lansing. She said previous incidents and the party leadership’s response have left her convinced that she would not be welcome at the gathering.

"I feel like my presence isn’t going to be welcome. I don’t want to get chased around. I don’t want to get harassed. I don’t want to get yelled and screamed at. I don’t want to get booed off the stage, irrespective of what I’m saying. And I believe that if I go, that is what will happen because it’s been happening to me.”
……
“I can’t speak for the Republican Party because I’m not a member of that party,” Nessel said. “But I will speak as a member of the Democratic Party here in Michigan, that something’s got to change. This cannot continue.”

Michigan Democratic Party spokesman Derrick Honeyman responded with a statement promising that the August gathering would be safe.

“We reject antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all forms of hateful conduct. We are working diligently with stakeholders, elected officials, and party membership to prepare for our August convention and look forward to welcoming Michigan Democrats to the Lansing Center on August 29.”

That carefully worded response did not address Nessel’s allegation that party leaders ignored her earlier complaints. It also did not identify any steps the party has taken against the members she says have harassed her.

Nessel’s fears follow an ugly April convention at which pro-Israel Democrats were shouted down by party activists. Democrat Rep. Haley Stevens of Michigan (MI-11), a pro-Israel candidate running for the Senate, faced sustained boos while addressing delegates. Jewish attendees later described the atmosphere as “shell-shocked.”

Delegates at that convention also rejected Jewish University of Michigan Regent Jordan Acker and instead backed Amir Makled, whose deleted social media activity included posts supporting Hezbollah and referring to its late leader Hassan Nasrallah as a “martyr.” Makled has said that he disavows antisemitism….

trump and maQa Republicans are at or near an all time low in popularity and Democrats have a prime opportunity to take control of the House and possibly the Senate but they keep trying to wet the bed.

Demonizing Jewish people and calling for the defunding of the Police, etc. turns off the moderate/independent voters needed to win votes in swing districts.

Not a great strategy regarding defunding the police. While I agree that the Jewish People shouldn’t all be demonized, Israel’s War in Gaza and elsewhere does not poll well. AIPAC’s control of both of our parties is starting to become bad look. And there are many Jews who consider themselves far left and are just as hypercritical of the zionists. Meanwhile the popularity of the war in Gaza in Israel itself is sadly shameful.

Could Josh Shapiro win the Democratic nomination for President in 2028? Or would his religious beliefs and moderate approach to Israel and Gaza be held against him?

Just like not enough Republicans speak up against trump's, pontius paxton's, max miller's and other alleged abuses, not enough Democrats speak up against the demonization of Jewish people.

And progressive zealots don't seem to care because like trump and maQa they value 100% loyalty over actually making a difference.

It's like both parties are doing what they can to cause a legitimate 3rd party option to emerge.
