not anymore... the addition of the stacks on both sides of the big house is holding more sound - it was palpable during the ND game, so much louder than before - which is great for the maize and blue

I wanted to go to Michigan when I was a younger fella - I wanted to play for Michigan when I was deluded enough to think such things were possible... at some point, when my financials improve - I'm going to the big house for a game (one of those "bucket list" things)

It was taken by the Va Pilot. I'm getting the smaller one and cutting the "ROAR" off the edge.

Seriously Dude. Stoney Brook..Montana State... Northwestern???? Ya they are decent stadiums, but there are several much better than those.

Lafayette College

Lehigh

Holy Cross

The venerable Franklin Field (former home of the Eagles) what other stadium on an FCS scholl campus hosted an NFL championship game?

Image

Harvard Stadium-- just a bit nicer than Stoney Brooks'

Image

The Yale bowl

Next time do a bit more research before declaring best stadiums--thanks. Also who cares if it has two decks if one of the decks is super small. Big freakin deal

How did Stony Brook get on this list? Does it even have a visitor side? BF I thought you liked stadiums over 8K capacity?

stony brook DOES have a visitor side & there capacity is 9k & they got a (-) for it too. & franks, I wanted to stay away from the Ivy league/private schools btw I gave princeton #2. Remember! ALL of these stadiums have been nominated by players/former players & referenced by members of ChampSub.

I've played at SBU - it is one of the nicest FCS stadiums around. It doesn't have the atmospher because they suck and always have sucked. If they could get 9,000 people in it, it would be great because even with 5,000 its loud as hell.

And BTW - they got another $5 million from the state last year to add the additional seating on the visitors side (bring it up to 12,000) despite the fact that Albany got $0 for an upgrade from a high school field.

And Stony Brook sucks.

You purposely stayed away from some of the best stadiums around just because-- good reason. Espn did an article about Harvard Stadium, Franklin, and the Yale Bowl-- still waiting for that one on Washington-Griz. Also did you know that long ago Walter Camp wanted to widen the field but they didnt because newly constructed Harvard stadium would have been deemed obselete. So basically the father of modern football made to rules of the game to comply with Harvard Stadium, and its not on the list?

You left off some great stadiums at public schools as well like Georgia Southern and Cal-Davis. Those are very nice as well. I am also a former player and nominate the stadiums I mention above.

lets be FRANK, nobody cares about the ivy league stadiums... its kinda NOT FAIR bc the ivy leagues schools were REALLY supposed to be in fbs but they were demoted ALONG WITH ARMY,NAVY & AF, however the pentagon (or some gov force) sent a letter to ncaa and got army navy af,reinstated. So the large stadiums ivy league schools have REALLY shouldnt be in the running at all. I was being nice.

Many people still case about Ivy league football. Ivy schools were demoted because of attendance basically, and if their attendance was at 30k plus they would have stayed FBS and continue to do what they do. Army and Navy meet all the criteria to be FBS, and other schools would ceratinly be kicked out before them as attendance is still pretty good at the service academies. Also who cares about two decks when the decks are extremely tiny, like Stoney Brook
