Does anybody wear straight BDU's anymore? That's my first questions. My second question. Are we really coming up that short on our recruiting quotas?

That and the POS car.
And Death Dealer should apparently be happy all he got was a FedEx'ed letter asking him to join.

Re: US Military snatches protestor at G20 yesterday????
Hard to tell. Having wrestled lots of people into Crown Victorias over the years, it doesn't look like that guy was putting up much more than a token fight.
The uniforms looked somewhat off. I'd be more inclined to think it was a police team and not military.
The car was a police package based on the rims, but the visor over the rear passenger window was a little weird. Generally you only see that kind of thing on cars that are specifically assigned to one person who adds accessories. In other words, not a government motorpool car, but a local police vehicle. Having it over the back window could mean that the car is used by officers on a jump-out team.
In police riot control, we are taught to separate out the ring leaders. That may well be what was happening here. If that kid was smart, he went into hiding after he was released, so that his buddies could claim that he was abducted. Since he probably isn't smart, he'll probably just go right to the media saying he was kept in a room with a drippy faucet and a light bulb hanging from the ceiling.

The one thing that is interesting is at the very end you see the riot officers on the very left of the screen. They seem to be telling the other kid with his hands up to get away.
Interesting anyway.

Agreed. This ain't the kind of thing the military would be involved in anyway....it'd be police of some sort.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:having been around the kind of protesters that show up at these things during the RNC... this is the kind of shit they would stage and try to make it in to "see!!! see!!! fascism! right here in america!!!" these guys are all about escalation - i think they watch the seattle wto protests and jack off... it's pretty pathetic

contrary to popular belief... these people have nothing to do with mainstream liberal thought... these people are professional protesters - trust fund babies who specialize in causing a ruckus and chaos in whatever city world leaders are gathered in... their agenda is... convoluted at best... but mostly they are just there because it's the their scene and it's what they do.CitadelGrad wrote:Interesting. me? i'm nowhere near protests... the whole concept of it is - for the most part - useless. my work was in winning elections - not self-indulgent protests that change nothing.

Not that I have paid that much attention but I have never known anyone that could tell me what they were actually protesting for or against other than anti-globalization which is a big all encompassing but meaning little ?TwinTownBisonFan wrote:contrary to popular belief... these people have nothing to do with mainstream liberal thought... these people are professional protesters - trust fund babies who specialize in causing a ruckus and chaos in whatever city world leaders are gathered in... their agenda is... convoluted at best... but mostly they are just there because it's the their scene and it's what they do.CitadelGrad wrote:

Question: Why can you so easily dismiss these people as "having nothing to do with mainstream liberal thought", yet when conservatives try to do the same with birthers, truthers, and the town-hall yellers, you disagree? (And by "you", I don't mean you particularly, but liberals in general).TwinTownBisonFan wrote:contrary to popular belief... these people have nothing to do with mainstream liberal thought... these people are professional protesters - trust fund babies who specialize in causing a ruckus and chaos in whatever city world leaders are gathered in... their agenda is... convoluted at best... but mostly they are just there because it's the their scene and it's what they do.CitadelGrad wrote:

Re: US Military snatches protestor at G20 yesterday????
mostly because having worked in both parties - the super-liberal activists have NOTHING to do with party operations or candidates... whereas, in the GOP, especially under Roves guidance - they've embraced their fringe, and they constitute more of their "base" than say the fringe left makes up for the Dems "base".AZGrizFan wrote:Question: Why can you so easily dismiss these people as "having nothing to do with mainstream liberal thought", yet when conservatives try to do the same with birthers, truthers, and the town-hall yellers, you disagree? this is not to say the Dems don't have plenty of of whackjobs in our party (Maxine Waters is our Michele Bachmann - no doubt) but this part of the fringe element on display in Pittsburgh has walked away from the Dems - (if they were ever there) for being to "corporatist" and "selling out to big business"

Only people still wearing straight BDUs are Air Force folks who are retiring within the next year (because the new uniform is not mandatory until then, and why spend the money)
Those are not U.S. military folks IMHO....Army and Marines don't wear BDUs any more...it's either staged, or someone wants to make it look like the military and didn't do their homework...
