Umm, making a recording is a little different than flying your wife (2 days beforehand) flying yourself and your mom (Oprah) hundreds and hundreds of security and staff, both Air Force 1 aircraft, several military aircraft in support, etc, etc, etc, at a total cost of untold and unknown millions of dollars.

On top of that, both Michelle and Obama made speeches. Obama put his reputation on the line by making his speech overly personal. I know you Donks are trying to brush this off as no big deal, but when you go to this much trouble and at that expense, Obama had A LOT riding on that Olympic bid.

I didn't vote for Obama, and he certainly isn't my guy, but I think it's pathetic that some conks are celebrating his failure - if indeed it is his failure. It was wrong when donks celebrated Bushs' supposed failures and it just as wrong now.

It would have been cool if Chicago had gotten the Olympics. All Americans lost today. Sometimes we need to Americans first and put the petty party bullshit aside.

I am not celebrating Obama's failure and agree that it would have been cool for Chicago to host the Olympics.

But Obama's risky decision to invest so much of his personal reputation to support the Olympic bid does call into question his judgement and the abilities of his political team. How the hell can they justify not supporting the Democratic candidate for NYC mayor because he can't win and then stick their necks out on the Olympic bid?
