Yeah im going to have to go with Grizfan88 on this one. It is true that APP State has schedualed cream puff teams in the past years. For example; a Division-3 team last year (Lenoir-Rhyne "Cough"). And i myself am getting kinda tired of App State fans bringing up "we beat Michigan." Just because you beat them last year doesnt mean you will automatically be good this year. And it isnt a ludacris comment at all. And he is right if AE gets injured (and im sure teams will be gunning for him) App State will fall apart plain and simple. Your right Griz Fan, i think App State is getting way to much hype already this year. And yeah...how is he the fool when he just stated what i know alot of people are thinking? And yeah the ass...doesnt really shout "expert" now does it?

And, about your statement "that Appstate will fall apart if AE gets injured". Apparently, you weren't paying attention last season. We went 4-0 in games in which he didn't play last season.

GF88 and SUU Tbird I am going to lump the two of you in together since you seem to have taken a similar path on the thread. As far as the SoCon there are a few other teams that you did leave out as far as other good teams in the conference. Furman, The Citadel, & Elon come to mind immediately. You guys don't make a lot of sense with the App talk and so forth. Beating Michigan last year is not what i have seen touted by App fans on this board about their future success for 2008. The fact that they are returning their best player and have many backups with a lot of experience returning from a team that has won 3 in a row would seem to give any fan base a reason to feel good about their chances going into a new year. Unlike both of you that are equating someone's expertise based on their choice of an avatar, I tend to go by what I read from the posts as a determining factor of a fellas expertise in a discussion. So far guys in what I've read from you it is not boding well to your level of expertise. Saying that the av has something to do with someone's expertise on a football board really shows some hollowness in your thought process. GF88, you make a silly statement about the fact that App got lucky in their game with JMU. You seem to be implying that defense isn't part of the game and that fumbles don't happen during games normally. How many close games were the Griz involved in last year where we got lucky? If you're going to say something like that then I think you better apply the criteria equally to the team we follow in the interest of fairness, don't you?

And i wasnt reffering to this year as having cream puff teams, im reffering to the past years of APP State. The point im trying to make is that App State just because they were good last year doesnt mean they will win it this year. Stop hurting that pea-brain, because you won't find one. Of the so-called "power" conferences, the Southland might go 2 deep on a good year, the BSC is usually two deep, 3 on a good year, the Gateway MIGHT go 4 deep in a good year (of course, it's more than 8 teams) and the So-Con goes 3 deep usually. Only the CAA can claim to go more than 4 deep, but they've got 12 teams. So, to use a dumbass argument like "ASU only has Georgia Southern and Wofford and that's it" just proves your lack of knowledge. Every conference has the same basic structure: 2-3 really good teams, 2-3 mediocre teams, 2-3 below average teams and one or two real creampuffs. ASU comes from a conference that has won 12 of the 30 I-AA titles given out since 1978. That's 40% of the NC trophies held by ONE conference---the one you claim is a soft conference. I'll go out on a limb and make this bold statement: If you try to make ANY argument that the So-Con is soft or easy, I won't be the only one on this board calling you a dumbass. And THAT has nothing to do with my avatar.

And i just have to say all you APP State fans...you beat Michigan LAST YEAR. Get over it. APP State as well has schedualed some "Cream Puff" teams to make themselves look better. Not to mention you beisdes Georgia Southern and Woffered (on a good year) You have one of the weakest conferences imaginable. I will give you credit for winning the 1-AA three years in a row (very luckily in some games) but im afraid if you lose edwards your whole team is going to go down. When they lose in the playoffs this year its going to be great.

iF YOU HONESTLY THINK THE SOCON IS A WEAK CONFERENCE, THEN YOU DON'T FOLLOW FCS OFTEN. The only SoCon team I follow is the Citadel, bear with me. Lets go back 20 years.

In the past 20 years, the SoCon has won 8 times. 10 of those years, SoCon had a team in the final game(losing in 1998 and 2001). Consistently it's App State, Georgia Southern and Furman.

The Big Sky has sent 1 team to the final game 4 times with wins in 1995 and 2001. I think you know who that team is.

The Gateway(youngston state) has won 5 times in the past 20 years and has been in a final game 8 of those 20 years.


Going off of those stats, tell me again, who is the weakest?
