The Rev. Al Sharpton wants the National Football League to block conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh from bidding on the St. Louis Rams.

He doesn't want them buying the team because he percieves him as a racist and a homophob...even though he throws more racial slurs around that Limbaugh does.

My question was honest. If we are going to stop Limbaugh from buying a team because he is a percieved racist or homophobe are we going to stop all people we think may be racist or homophobic from buying things?

there are other right wing owners in the nfl, and that's fine... but those owners don't go on the airwaves for three hours every week day and say things that would bring unwanted attention to the nfl.

no... they won't. that attitude is a generation old... the elite of the league won't sign... guys who are desperate might... but that makes for a perennial 2-14 team... and their elite draft picks... the best of them are going to refuse to play there...

it's a pr nightmare for the league... and unnecessary...

btw... nfl salaries aren't "ridiculously high" they make $700k/season on average with no guarantee - compared to any other sport... the salaries are remarkably low compared to revenues.
