IMO the most overrated team wouldn't make the playoffs...

your winner is the Chicago Cubs (they were the WS team for a number of fairly well respected prognosticators)

New York Mets (the season from hell)
Cleveland Indians
Tampa Bay Rays
Milwaukee Brewers

Better than we thought they'd be: Colorado Rockies

San Francisco Giants
Atlanta Braves
Texas Rangers

How can a team be ovverrated when they made the playoffs and lost to a team with a better record?

Great lists on both parts.

Some of my thoughts

Cubs suck. Everyone was buying the world series hype, but I wasn't. Maybe that is because I can't stand them, but still.

Indians and Brewers made me look like an ass with some things I said early, but feel about where I predicted them too.

I don't remember my exact lists for predictions but I think I said the Giants, Rangers, Mariners and Braves could push teams this year. I didn't see the Rockies making another Rocktober run, but I'm glad to see they did.

Many had them winning 95+ games

I think the cards were predicted pre-season to finish 3rd in the division behing the chubbies and the Brewers, and yet they had the division won by August. Yep, they sure were overrated and failed to meet expectations.

Unless you have the highest payroll in baseball, are annointed the best team in all the land on paper, but choke it out in the playoffs AGAIN...

Given that most of the baseball pundits picked the Cardinals to finish no better than 3rd in their division, I'd say they are underrated.

Seeing as you listed 2 playoff teams, I'd have to say somebody else.

The Mets and Rays come to mind.
