Well, that was fun while it lasted:
Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the story on Wednesday.

Limbaugh was to be a limited partner in a group headed by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts. Checketts said in a statement Wednesday that Limbaugh's participation had become a complication in the group's efforts and the bid will move forward without him.

...Checketts, the chairman of SCP Worldwide, announced that Limbaugh had been dumped toward the end of a news release.

"It has become clear that his involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions; endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis," Checketts said. "As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion."

...Earlier, on his syndicated radio show, Limbaugh was defiant, holding on to hope that he still could be part of the ownership group that buys the Rams.

"This is not about the NFL, it's not about the St. Louis Rams, it's not about me," Limbaugh said. "This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democrat Party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative.

"Therefore, this is about the future of the United States of America and what kind of country we're going to have."
Or maybe this was about a group of businessmen who knew it was only a matter of time until, like a retarded overweight gumball machine, something completely stupid, flammable and damaging to the league fell out of your cavernous cake-hole. But no, it's definitely about Democrats and the media.

When did Rush say that? Was it on his radio show? I don't listen to it but if you have a clip or something where he said that I would appreciate if you could let me hear it. That could be racist for sure and I'm not saying that he isn't because I don't know him any better than any of you do.

Oh, bullshit! Even if Rush said it, that does not make him "racist."

It's like saying Mussolini made the trains run on time or Hitler built the autoban, or like saying that Stalin built up heavy industry in the Soviet Union. Just because those statements are factually accurate does not mean people who utter them are are pro-fascist or pro-communist or desire the return of those dictatorships. :ohno:

What are you talking about? He was brought in to ESPN to do opinion pieces and there was NOTHING emotional or racist about it. He was talking about the media wanting to give too much credit to Donovan for the team's success based on the fact that he was black. Can you find racism in it? Sure, but that was not what I see that he was going for.

I'm not an authority on any of this, however, I did assist in checking several tests and was baffled when I saw final grades for a few athletes that never attended class, copied off of a girl with a DIFFERENT test form than them, and didn't participate in the graded discussions I led over course material. Now the class may not have been super difficult but to still pass with a high B when you put in 0 effort and didn't get higher than 60% on tests seems confusing to me.

They said having Rush as a co-owner would cause too many distractions for the NFL.

And Michael Vick, Plaxico Burress?, Brett Favre, Pac man Jones, and Terrel? Owens arent distractions?

This was maybe not a Liberal thing, but it was a media thing from begining to end.

What Rush said was right, all except the Mcnabb part, Black Quarterbacks have not been successful in the NFL.

Oh no, i said something against blacks, the drive-by media is going to come and try to destroy me and everything about me, call me a Right-wing radical conservative, racist, terrorist, traitor, nazi, and drive thier left wing agenda down on me so hard until my very bones begin to break.

Interesting you should mention "confusing"...
Rush committed a drug trafficking felony in the state of Florida and was preparing for a No contest plea but because he's got hundreds of millions of dollars and his buddy's brother runs the state...

he gets to walk...
Simply by paying money to make it go away...

If Rush had shot himself in a night club would he be in jail right now...? (I think not)
is that all confusing too..?

Florida Law
Florida Statutes
893.135 Trafficking; mandatory sentences;
(c)1. Any person who knowingly sells, purchases, manufactures, delivers, or brings into this state, or who is knowingly in actual or constructive possession of, 4 grams or more of oxycodone, or 4 grams or more of any mixture containing any such substance, but less than 30 kilograms of such substance or mixture, commits a felony of the first degree, which felony shall be known as "trafficking in illegal drugs," punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. If the quantity involved:
a. Is 4 grams or more, but less than 14 grams, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 3 years, and the defendant shall be ordered to pay a fine of $50,000.
b. Is 14 grams or more, but less than 28 grams, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years, and the defendant shall be ordered to pay a fine of $100,000.
c. Is 28 grams or more, but less than 30 kilograms, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 25 calendar years and pay a fine of $500,000.

Interesting article about the NFL's hypocrisy on this issue:

http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/srigh ... -on-stage/
Amidst the uproar over Rush Limbaugh having to step aside from his participation in the bid to purchase the NFL’s St. Louis Rams over racially insensitive statements he never actually made, is the fact that current ACTUAL owners of an NFL team have said much worse than the false and the left says nothing.

It doesn't matter what the left says, and it doesn't matter that Rush's blather got blown out of proportion.

The owners are not going to go into business with a junkie

But they didn't have a problem taking Fergie's money--a confirmed junkie. Then again, she doesn't have a controversial right-wing talk radio show.

What you are failing to comprehend, Z, is that no one knows who the hell fergie is. Everyone knows Rush, what an ass he is, and how divisive he is.

Not good business to be associated with him, when you are in the public arena like the NFL is.
