Absolutely. The last 6 years of the Clinton Administration were as close to perfection as we may ever get. A budget surplus and no grand plans and schemes.

It's always nice to find an area of agreement with another human being but I must take issue with something. My Grandmother used to say, "Call me anything but late for supper." But in my case I must add Republican to the "late for supper" phrase. I am a conservative with a libertarian and contrarian bent and as such I neither represent the Republican Party nor am I represented by the Republican Party.

I wouldn't join any organization that would have me and if I found a large group of people who agreed with me, I would start questioning my own thoughts.

Agreed (well said)
I am Liberal at heart - but find I disagree with Democrats fairly regularly - however that does not change the Liberal view with which I look at the world

I'm not sure where I "belong" politically or philosophically...

Well, if the government is footing the bill for HC (via taxpayers), then they have more standing in banning certain risky behaviors that increase their risk & liability (ie; costs) like trans-fat, cigarettes, alcohol consumption...slippery slope my friend...akin to government doling out Highway funds & withholding said funds if drinking age is not raised or BAC is not lowered at their whim....like what occured under those socialist ideals perpetrated by Reagen & Bush administrations of the '80's....
