Eden Prairrie coached by Mike Grant (Son of a Bud) and Stillwater are the big school AAAAA favorites, both have advanced to the section finals.
Minnesota has 9-man, A, AA, AAA, AAAA, and AAAAA schools. All state semi-final and final games are played in the HHH Metrodome.

Re: Highschool FB Playoffs in your state
I believe there are two weeks of regular season football in florida. Tampa should have a shot in 2A (Tampa Catholic), 4A (Armwood), and 5A (Plant last year's 4A champ). 6A is always the miami invitational. Almost every school in miami is 6A.

Re: Highschool FB Playoffs in your state
Montana has five classes: AA, A, B C (8 man and 6 man)
AA in Montana is the size equivalent of AAAA in most othere states; the larger would be 5A in TX.
A-C playoffs started last week, AA starts this week. All games are on Friday or Saturday, with state title games played at the home site of the top team.

Re: Highschool FB Playoffs in your state
GCMS, Gibson City Melvin Sibley, the alma mater of dback and OSBF concluded their season with only 2 loses, both to state finalist. GCMS lost a mid season conference game to Lexington, the 1A runner up, and lost in the 2A semi-finals to eventual state champion Morrison. 8 teams from the HOI, Heart of Illinois, conference made the playoffs in either 1A or 2A, so busting through conference dropping 1 game was pretty good.
The program has come a longways, as I remember we won 3-4 varsity football games the 4 years I was in HS.Congrats to the Falcons on a season to remember.

7-0 in conference
8-0 at home

Re: Highschool FB Playoffs in your state
My old high school back in Missoula made the state playoffs for the first time since the 80s this season, which is pretty fun considering they won 4 games total in my time there, and 3 of them were my freshman year. They lost their first round game, but considering how abysmal they've been recently, reaching the playoffs was quite a surprise.
Here in Washington we have state championship games this weekend for 3A and 4A football. Which should both be great games, 3A is Bellevue (a real power here in the Evergreen State, and the team that ended De La Salle's record winning streak a few years back) vs Liberty from Issaquah. Bellevue handed Liberty their only loss earlier this season 27-21, so it should be a fun one.
Saturday night is the big game that a lot of people in my neck of the woods are excited about though as Ferris High School (Spokane) takes on the two time defending state champs of Skyline (Sammamish) in the 4A title game. Skyline knocked Ferris out in the semi's last season. Skyline's QB Jake Heaps is one of the top QB's in the nation and Connor Halliday of Ferris (a Washington State commit) has really been lighting it up for the Saxons in recent weeks. A lot of Coug fans here are really excited to see Halliday play before he comes down to Pullman, so hopefully Ferris can pull it out.

I think so, at least lots of names I know aren't Gibson City families. Fair number of names I remember from my time living in Melvin. Here's a link to the pre-season prospectus: http://pantagraph.com/sports/high-schoo ... f447d.htmldbackjon wrote:Good to see them do so well.
