Those attendance numbers are bullsh*t. They are NOT actual "butts in seats". MAC attendance is, in actuality, below the MVFC, I'll bet.

The Youngstown numbers are the biggest offenders, too.

18,000 is about 70% of what Montana, Appy and Delaware average.

I would rather split Pizza bowl money in the MAC, and basketball money, than stand around broke telling everyone the FCS decides the championship on the field. That kind of talk is silly pride. Its the economics of the situation you should be worried about not the idea that a couple teams in the FCS play for a championship for no money.

The numbers I posted are from the NCAA. They clearly show NDSU belongs in a larger market. Thats the only way we can realize the revenue potential of our market. NDSU controls a big sports market and it fits nicely in the MAC. It expands the MACs presence further west. Our market is adjacent to the MAC market. It makes more sense for the MAC to expand into new markets that reinforce their traditional footprint rather than bring in a team that simply overlaps or duplicates market coverage. Why add a competitor when you can add an asset?

I dont care what Montana does. It is starting to look like they are headed for the WAC when the moratorium ends. I also dont care what the records of NDSU or Montana are. That sort of thing is cyclical. All teams are up and down.

I think the FCS is in for a huge shake-up when the moratorium ends.

Thats no kidding. I think last year when we played at YSU, it looked like about 5-7K in the stands, and they claimed that something like 15K people were there.
