Fucking awesome.

Agreed - if you have not lived in NY or spent significant time there... and you're a Yankee's fan
By definition you are a Total Douche Bag...

I seriously DO NOT GET the Yankee fanbase that is 65% people who've never lived in NY and have absolutely no connection to that city what-so-ever... I get it if you're a New Yorker or you've spent time there (like lived there) but otherwise it's simply STUPID

:wtf:
Or if you're Italian-American. The Yankees have long had a following among Italian-Americans. Going back to the days when they were an unpopular minority, Italian-Americans started following the Yankees due to the exploits of Joe DiMaggio, and later guys like Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto. DiMaggio brought pride and credibility to Italian-Americans. In fact, during WWII, the government interned American citizens and residents born in Japan, but the repression of Americans born in Italy became far less severe after a San Franscico newspaper reported that DiMaggio's parents may be forcefully removed from the city.

This fan base continues to exist today, as children and grandchildren often take their sports preferences from their parents and grandparents.

Baseball sucks. The outcome of this years fall classic is indisputable proof that baseball sucks.

I rest my case.

My dad's dad moved to NYC, half a mile from Yankee stadium, when he was 4 from Norway. He met my grandmother at a Yankees game. He moved to Montana with her right after they got married. So, my dad grew up an avid fan, and naturally I did as well.

So, am I stupid? :coffee:
My dad worked for the Dallas Cowboys shortly after his first college degree... he was an avid Cowboys fan and still is... He has a reason to be - He worked for them...I am my own person - I use my own brain - and figured out pretty early that the Cowboys are a bunch of douche nozzle tool bags... But by your logic I should be a Cowboys fan... (Yeesh..!!!)

So YES - you're weak and stupid - A Montana kid by default should have no interest in NY or the Yankee's - I don't care if your mom is sleeping with Hank Steinbrenner - there is no excuse (period)

:wall: :censored: :stupid: :flag:

So I guess all of us Phillies fans should start pulling for the Ath-a-letics. Nobody gave a rat's ass about the Phillies before the A's left.

There are a lot of people in North Dakota that are Yankee fans because of Roger Maris. :coffee:

Many of the all-time Yankees have ventured to Fargo to participate in the 27 Annual Roger Maris Celebrity Benefit Golf Tournaments, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Bobby Richardson, Tony Kubek, Clete Boyer, Moose Skowron etc. Many of them came back to be pallbearers when Roger Passed away. Most of the memorabilia in the Roger Maris Museum is Yankee related.
