There is a lot of that in Carbondale this year.native wrote:Spoken with a true championship mentality!houndawg wrote:Ideally we'd play Delaware, UNH, Appy, and Montana, who have all beaten us in the playoffs before. Our ticket prices drop by about 30-50% for playoff games since that is set by the NCAA and they get all the ticket money. They set the price at the same rate as all other stadiums hosting games in that round so it's nice to pay less when playoffs roll around. I think G&B has the price nailed down as far as what I paid last year.UNC2857BEARS wrote:What are ticket prices like for Montana playoff games (if you can get them)???

You ought to see a counselor and get some closure on that issue.rabidrabbit wrote:I'd like to see UNH, Elon, EIU or an SLC or BSC school (other than Montana) for the Jackrabbits.
Not fear, but a bit disgusted, that Jacks are likely to be playing at Montana. After the buyout by the Griz, hate to see them rewarded again with another Jackrabbit game at Wa-Griz.
CAA/Patriot/OVC/MEAC have all not faced SDSU since transition started. Would love to get any of those conference members to play. But being a "western" school, unlikely to occur.

In fact, the official playoff handbook seems to contradict that statement:
The minimum ticket prices shall be $10 for reserved seating and $6 for general admission.
A $5 student general admission ticket, with student identification card, is permissible for
grade school, high-school and college students for first-round, quarterfinal and semifinal
games. All playoff tickets, however, shall not be less than the regular-season ticket prices
of the host institution.

That's odd because out prices always drop at playoff time. I know that the 1st round is not the $30-50 we pay for home games during the regular season.JayJ79 wrote:this is the first I've ever heard anything like that.Ursus A. I don't think we pay $20, it is real close to 17 bucks.

Hey, all, I'm new here. Be gentle.
Want to play: South Dakota St. I grew up in Montana, graduated from UM and live in South Dakota now. Just for shits and giggles, I'd like to see the Griz and Jacks go at it in the playoffs.
Fear: No one, but if the Griz are going to play Richmond again, I'd prefer it to be for all the marbles (again). Kind of like how Marshall got us back in '96 (except we don't have Randy Moss now, but that's another story).

Re: Playoffs who you want to play, teams you fear.
The only playoff games I went to at Wa-Griz were when I was a student and the student tickets were $5 (instead of free like they were for regular season games). I do know that if you want to get Griz tickets, the first round playoff weekend is some of the easiest pickings due to Thanksgiving. I don't know that they've ever had a sellout that weekend (but I also didn't research that statement at all, so I could be wrong).Ursus A. Yeah clenz that must be the case. It seems odd that they've never caught on in the last couple of decades but they haven't looked into the grades thing that TBH has professed either so it must all be good.clenz wrote:Seems you are breaking NCAA rules then it appears.Ursus A. Re: Playoffs who you want to play, teams you fear.
The closest we would have come to sellouts would have been in 1989 & 1993 I would think as the stadium was under 15,000 at the time. There is normally around 19,000 at the game after Thanksgiving now. For some reason those always seem like some of the loudest crowds though.SouthDakotaGrizzly wrote:The only playoff games I went to at Wa-Griz were when I was a student and the student tickets were $5 (instead of free like they were for regular season games). All I am saying is that if UM isn't selling at a least what regular season games are, which is NCAA rule, they are breaking said rule.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Yeah clenz that must be the case. Re: Playoffs who you want to play, teams you fear.
You don't think they know that rule and that there may be some other stipulation or way they have gotten around what that particular section says for the last 20 years? Somehow I kinda think there might be more to it than we know from this thread. For instance they may be able to charge the least amount of a home game or something like that and is the reason that UM has different levels on tickets. It might also be something that the NCAA can't force the University to charge a certain percentage above what the other host institutions are charging for the same product. Since we don't know maybe we can figure that since the NCAA is collecting the money and the season ticket prices is readily available that the "NCAA rules violation" is probably rooted in pure horse shit? I'm just spitballin' here clenz, what do you think?clenz wrote:All I am saying is that if UM isn't selling at a least what regular season games are, which is NCAA rule, they are breaking said rule.Ursus A. Oh, also as far as I've ever heard the NCAA sets the price for the tickets. Is it possible that the NCAA can't come after them since they are in charge of the pricing of their own product? You work in the ticket office at UNI so does the NCAA tell you what the charge will be or does UNI set the price?

Re: Playoffs who you want to play, teams you fear.
The NCAA tells us we CAN NOT sell tickets for less than the regular season games were. This caused problems last year with fans when tickets were $26 for regulars season games, and people bitched, then they had to pay $26 to see us play fucking Maine.Ursus A.
