Unbeleivable the idiots on this thread.

SCSU by 1 in OT. It's their year.

AppStateAlumQC Tough break for S.C. State, as I'm sure a lot of their fans thought this would be the year that they got to host a playoff game. But if you look at the schedule, there is nothing impressive there. They lost to South Carolina 38-14 and the game was over basically by halftime. Not only do they lack any quality wins out of conference, but the only quality win I see on the resume was over Florida A&M. Long has had a good year even though he doesn't look like the player he was last year and looks like he's put on a good amount of weight and is a step slower. Ford was a big time player for SCSU against App last season, but his production and numbers have taken a hit this season as teams have been able to key on him. Bulldogs were big and physical last year, but from what I've heard they have lost a lot of those big lineman from last year's squad. Also, SCSU faced an injured Edwards last year and even though he is coming off an injury he suffered at Elon, he's in better shape going into this game as opposed to last year's first round game. South Carolina State caught App off guard last year and we ended up having our hands full the whole game, I don't think that happens this time around. I think AE starts and plays well. App knows how good this program is and jumps out to an early lead and never looks back.

That's not true, at half-time the score was only 10-7 South Carolina... S.C. State played very good the 1st half, but not in the 2nd half....I watched that game on ESPNU
http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnf ... MEID=24224

The second half was a different story. South Carolina dominated the 2nd and Long's TD in the last few seconds made it look better than it should have been at 38-7. The way Appalachian has played the past few weeks and knowing what kind of team SCSU is, App won't let the Dogs hang around this time.

If the syntax is any indication, Chizzang might be right. If Armanti is healthy, there are very few teams that can stop him, and definitely not a team from a conference who has never sniffed a playoff win.

When it comes to the playoffs, conference affiliation has alot more to do with it than you might think. MEAC teams are 0-fer, and thats mainly b/c of the level of competition. Its just simply a lower level than the other Auto-bid conferences. Prove us wrong and you get respect. Until then, you're gonna get pounded with the mountain of evidence that says you have no chance.

South Carolina State played a solid game last year in Boone. But that doesn't mean anything once noon hits on saturday. The first quarter will be telling, if we come out of the gate like we did against Furman, Ga Southern and Elon I think we'll cruise. If we come out and play like we did last week in the first quarter, then it will again be a game decided in the 4th.

Ok I understand armanti edwards is a Hell of a player he is..heck is from 60 miles away from where I grew up...coco hillary is from 30 miles from where I grew up and Quick is from the same hometown...but you can't compare conferences in the playoffs...I know the MEAC's bottom an I do say bottom is garbage..but we have 3 teams in our Conference who could hang with and beat any team in any other conference historically as the record books state. SCSU, HAMPTON,and FAMU.and please do your research because I believe it was 10 years agao almost to the date where FAMU went to Boone and and beat APP st by 2 Tds..and for NH got by by the skin of there teeth against Hampton 3 years ago..my point is just because the total conference may be weak that doesnt mean that Teams in that conference are completely bumbs..Boise st, TCU, Utah, c'mon guys

I just don't see how people can be mad because South Carolina State isn't hosting a game. They got blown out in Columbia against the Gamecocks and the only "quality" win is over Florida A&M. My guess is most Bulldogs fan's aren't as mad about not getting a home game as they are about having to go back to Boone to play the Mountaineers.

Florida A&M did come to Boone and win in the playoffs in 99. Wasn't Hampton undefeated going into that game against UNH in 2006?

What the fuck does having a couple of quality wins have anything to do with having a home playoff game? Unless you are a top 4 seed, who you played, and how well you played them don't mean a god damn thing.

You get a home playoff game by bidding more than the other team did. That is all the criteria that there is. If you are matched up with Montana, App. St., Delaware, UNI, and a couple of others then you are NOT gonna have that home game in the first round. SCSU didn't put in a big enough bid to have the home game and that is all there is to it.

The MEAC is BAD, the competition level is BAD. Yes, that affects your teams. It makes SCSU look better than they are. Hampton a couple years ago, same story. None of them did anything in the playoffs. That is where your conference means something in the playoffs and it has shown in the past.

I'm not comparing last year's LSU team with South Carolina. SCSU got blown out at South Carolina. Nothing else noteworthy in the nonconference. The MEAC sucks this year, and just about every year. If Armanti is healthy and ready to play then App is good shape to get the win. My feeling is that with this being AE's last stand, it's going to take a lot to stop this team.

NC A&T has a playoff win.

A&T also has a regular season win against App State and Western Carolina when Bill Hayes was the head coach.

 fcuker. This is quite the pissing match. I have respect for SCSU, they played well in Boone. Who knows what will happen Saturday, as they say, that's why we play the game. And, if you only have 8 posts and you're calling "Mr. Harvard" Chizzang an idiot, you need to rethink where you're at on this board. Chizzang (Cleets, Cleet Part II) is a lot of things (including and avid ironer  ), but he's a smart fella.

Our newest posters for the two schools reminds me of the Elon/ASU pissing match on the other board. Settle it on the field - should be a good game, and finally some real football weather instead of this rain we've had for nearly every game I've attended this season.
