EWU vs SFA game thread
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Big run for Jones down to SFA 25.
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Eastern moves the ball down the field easily but comes up short. FG attempt to go.
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Something tells me there's going to be a huge amount of yards in this one. Both offenses moving the ball at will early.
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
FG attempt SFA good.
3-3
3-3

Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Sack followed by a pick by Hoffman. We needed that.
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Another PICK for EWU! JC Sherritt! Eagles winning the turnover battle 2-0. Time to put some points on the board.
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
TD SFA.
Now 17-10 SFA
Now 17-10 SFA
Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Wow, cheap shot late hit by SFA no-call by the refs. Jones hurt.
Safety EWU. Now 17-12 SFA. EWU with the ball.
23-12 SFA @ half.

Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
30-12 SFA in the third.
Too many mistakes, Eags can't do **** on offense...can't stop anything on defense.
Completely uninspired play.
And another SFA TD. 37-12 SFA..........blowout.
Now 44-26 SFA, Big fumble recovery for EWU!

Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Just got back from the game, great time, wish the game wasn't thanksgiving weekend, as most of the students weren't in town, but there was a great local crowd there, nowhere near a sellout though.
Getting 20 straight points really helped seal this, as it went from a 17-12 game to a 37-12 game. After it was 44-19, SFA started to play too loose, and started giving up big plays down the middle of the field. The interception with 6 minutes to play in the endzone was huge. Moses threw too many picks, but our screen game was working so well, with the lead, that was as good as a decent run game.
SFA has an issue with closing out games, because of our lack in the run game, we're not used to milking the clock, but 25 points turned out to be a big enough cushion.
Very few people were picking SFA to win this game from this board, I'm not surprised this thread has been dead since the game ended. What happened to all the EWU backers?
*crickets* (as expected)

That's a good looking DEFENSE SFA has... Montana SFA is a fascinating match-up

Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
I'm not going to rub it in too much myself, since I didn't have a prediction on the game, mainly because I had no idea about anything when it comes to EWU football.dbackjon wrote:They'll be back, but quieter...

the SFA crowd was loving the SDSU-Montana updates till they started to see the huge comeback on the scoreboard. Everyone was talking about another playoff home game. But, once that game became close, people realized what was happening there.
I love my lumberjacks, but I will give a prediction for the Montana-SFA game: Not close, 2 touchdown win for the Grizzles.
SFA was 0-11 two seasons ago. This was the best we could have hoped for, I'm proud of our team, and maybe next year the expectations can be raised a bit, maybe add a little more of a run game, and shore up our secondary. We'll see. My bro is going to the Montana game, but I don't think I'll be able to make the trip.

Congrats SFA but, Montana will turn picks off Moses into points. He's a great QB for a team without a run game but the td/int [87/44] and gp/int [31/44] ratios are bad. He best be sure he chooses his passes a whole hell of a lot better next week.

Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
Yep, we had more yardage, both passing and rushing, fewer penalties, fewer turnovers....but our defense gave up too many big plays. The Jones fumble and the pick in the end-zone were the keys factors in that game, IMO.
Still, kudos to SFA, they played a good game. And it's been a great year, from no-chance to the play-offs, hard to be too dissapointed about an 8 win season and a 4th play-off apperance in the last 6 years.
I'm excited about next year. T. Jones is going to have a huge career at Eastern, he had a monster game today, and did it with a broken hand and broken ribs. Watch out next year, BSC!
And good luck to SFA the rest of the way, although I think you will have your hands full next week!

Re: EWU vs SFA game thread
CATmom you have to be the worst fan on here. A few months ago you threw the bobcats under the bus for being lost, and now you keep attacking Moses like he was the one who took that 80's glamour shot of you. He must be pretty damn good because yestereday he took a shot that I doubt man could take and came back and threw 2 TDS in a row. An earlier post said I doubt the SLC has a run like 2005 geez lets suck off Barrick Nealy some more. Quit living in the past and why would you give yourself catmilf nickname. You are the least credible fan here. We ran for a 131 yards yesterday net and actually had 185 without 2 sacks and screen. But hey your the expert that is evident.
