The Big Sky is a mediocore conference. You keep bringing up ISU, but I don't think your ISU is that much better...if at all. Hell, NDSU went from dominanting everyone they played to being a bottom half MVFC team.

I get Montana is a very good team, but any time a team wins 13 straight, or whatever it is, it would seem the rest of the conference can't get a damn clue on how to be competative. When was the last time a team outside of Montana made a real push for a title? When was the last time a team other than Montana made a serious push for #1? Made a push for the semi's?

The CAA and MVFC have multiple teams every year that have a legit title/#1 shot. UNI and SIU pretty much own the football conference, yet other teams always make a push. SDSU, YSU, ISUR, etc... all have made serious pushes.

Montana is a great team, yes, but beating up on that conference doesn't impress me. It is like UNI's schedule. Yay, we beat up on a bunch of shitty teams (ISUB, USD, SFPA). If Montana is the best team year in and year out, they should have more than 2 titles.

As much as I hate to say it,
it would seem that BOTH the BSC and the MVFC are rather mediocre this year, beyond their top teams (i.e. UM and SIU). They both may have had other teams that had good potential, but they couldn't quite pull it together and get the chemistry right, at least not down the stretch when it mattered.

Kind of a down year for both conferences.

Clenz, why don't you go back to bed....DJH is calling you. :kisswink:

If Weber had been selected over an 8-3 UNI team you guys might just have a legitimate bitch. But UNI shit the bed against Illinois State....they made their own bed....too bad, so sad. :thumb: :thumb:

Quit trying to justify UNI's failures by who does or doesn't win the BSC. Montana's domination of the BSC has nothing to do with UNI's performance last weekend or their 2-3 finish, ultimately leading to their elimination from playoff consideration.

That is all.

Good night now.

Did I say UNI deserved to be in? Nope. I did say UNI would put up more than -6 rushing yards. I did say UNI wouldn't have been shut out. I didn't, however, say UNI deserved to be in. Neither Weber or UNI deserved to be in the game. Shit, I would have rather saw a 5th CAA team than fucking Weber.

1. Why do you keep ignoring the fact that the Big Sky was the #2 ranked conference in the GPI this season, ahead of the MVFC, and calling it mediocre?
2. No one said Montana is the best team year in, year out. They're a good to very good team that has to beat 4 very good teams in a row in order to win a NC. Not an easy thing to do; ask UNI.
3. YSU was the last current member to win a NC, in 1997. If it's such a strong conference, why such a long drought?

BSCs worst team > MVCs worst team. That's right, bitches. ISU (of the BSC) beats ISU (of the MVC). You MVC guys have -no- leg to stand on when trying to compare the strength of the BSC to the MVC. You guys are hell bent on hanging onto the narrow Iowa loss as the reason your conf is so tough.. or something. Head to head, the BSC is better.

Cap'n & Jay, It's odd to say this but you two are the only two from UNI that seem to have a grasp on class at this point. I haven't seen anything from D1B but the man exudes class most of the time so I would have to throw him in that group as well.

So this is for the rest of you excluding those guys.

GO FUCK YOURSELVES, YOU'RE FUCKING LOSERS AND YOU KNOW IT.

Trying to hold on to some vestige of being relevant by claiming mediocrity in the BSC is pathetic. Some of it was bad yesterday, no doubt. Our conference is better than yours and that is a fact that you will have to face.

I assume that is true clenz. However the way you act on this board is a part of your personality that you need an outlet for due to not being able to do it to others in person. It is a part of you that you don't want those in close personal contact seeing on a daily basis. It doesn't keep me from liking you because I like the spice you bring to the conversations. :thumb:

The only thing I don't care for is the schadenfreude that you embrace so much. You are not the only one with this affliction but you are quite vocal about it. It would also be nice if you were to cull a little of AZGriz's M.O. in being able to "take it" gracefully when you dish it out as he does.

If you're gonna be a retromingent then you need to be able to say "you got me, good job" when your time to be humble arrives. Just sayin'...

Shit, if I talked to others in real life I wouldn't need a message board....damn, that came out wrong. I'm extremely introverted and don't really care for being around people most of the time. I'm one of the most quiet and shy people you could every meet. If I believed half the stuff I posted, I'd be fucked as a person.

Oh, and schadenfreude is taking it too far. I don't take joy in seeing others suffer as much as you think. I do find it humors how quickly the might will bitch about something as soon as they start to lose (UNI included), then as soon as the game turns they become kings of the world again...but the continue to bitch about the officials (Again, UNI included)

I do not bitch about officiating. If officials do a bad job then it normally is bad in both regards. Yesterday was a little lopsided until the 3rd & 4th quarter when the officials started staying out of it a little bit. It was not a good day for SLC refs yesterday and I will email you a link if you would like to watch the game and give me an unbiased opinion. It is human nature to make those calls less of a factor in your psyche if your team turns the tables. I also think you are giving extra weight to the reffing comments and paid no attention at all to the parts of the posts that said "We are getting manhandled", and "We are making too many mistakes", and so forth. It was a part, only a small part of a entire sum that was making us look bad.

I've seen you do it yourself. To mock others for having the same weaknesses of emotion during a contest seems a little disingenuous.

It may not be schadenfreude, but it certainly has the appearance of it being that. If you do not want it to be perceived as such then you should maybe think about tempering the keystrokes a bit. :thumb:

Either way it cool with me.

Fair enough, I was simply offering you the opportunity to judge for yourself from a first person viewpoint on the matter to see if there was validity in what was said.

I didn't call out the ones that weren't in here making claims of superiority, I was only calling out those that were so smug as far as what is what in terms of the MVFC vs. BSC.

You can not refuse to be called out for schadenfreude because I DID call you out for it. You can refuse to believe that it is the perception you presented but it is pretty clear in this post that YOU started throwing the haymakers without provocation and you were taking a bit of glee out of it...

This is why Montana doesn't win many titles (don't pull the how many does UNI have shit right now either). Beat up on shitty teams all season long, then have to play a quality team and shit the bed.....your home bed.

YSU was in the semis 3 years ago. IllSt has made a couple of nice runs. WIU has made playoff runs. UNI or SIU makes a deep playoff run ever year. NDSU has a mythical national title..

A lot of good programs in the MVC now. NDSU, WIU, and YSU won't be down for long.

And yet, 1997 was the last time a current member won a national championship. If the MVC is so vastly superior to the Big Sky, why is this?

A lot of good programs in the MVC now. NDSU, WIU, and YSU won't be down for long.

2003 was the last MVFC championship. More recent than Montana's last title. There is no reason for you to disregard WKU other than the fact that it strengthens your argument. They were in the conference, and they won the title, end of story.

Montana gets to feast on teams that are inferior year in and year out. They will always have 10 wins, and be given a high seed (rightfully so, or not..$$) and thus not having to play road playoff games. Montana is in an absolute ideal situation to make playoff runs.

Playing UNI always makes that run a little deeper as well so thanks for that too.

We love being able to pad our playoff record with you guys.
