Re: Volleyball
We'll get stuck in a regional with Texas, et all...we always do. Last time (2007) we got A&M the first round (or maybe it was Baylor), regardless, we'll have all BCS type teams to face early and likely be out before we really get strated.

Though it would be awesome to see y'all pull off the upset.
Re: Volleyball
UNI will play Washington State in Lincoln, Nebraska.
And if they win that one, they will take on the winner of Nebraska/Coastal Carolina.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the Huskers win that one, but I'll certainly be rooting for the Chanticleers. And hey, I guess this means I'll get to watch the "volleyball stretch" that Bodoyle was all excited about.
I don't really know anything about Washington State's volleyball team.
Coming from the Pac 10, I'm going to assume they have a decent team, but if the Panthers play at their normal level of volleyball, I'm confident they can come away with the win.

Yeah, I kind of expected this, as we both have stated. It sucks big time. We're on a 13 game win streak and the gals are playing in top form but I doubt we'll hang around at UT after this game is over.
Oh well, be happy we got there, I suppose. Good luck to UNI. Your in the same regional as us.

Re: Volleyball
This is perhaps the worst job the selection cmte. has ever done. Miami and Clemson from the ACC have no business being in the tournament. The top three teams from the Big 12 are in the same regional which also happens to be hosted by one of those three teams (Nebraska). The list goes on and on, but the cmte. should receive the death sentence for this atrocity.

Down and out
25-16
25-14
25-14
Seems the gals had a lot of mistakes and miscues and hit percentage was a paltry .044. How disappointing for them but, they had a good season.

Northern Colorado had a good showing against 6 seed Washington after winning the Big Sky tourney. The Bears took game 1 27-25, then lost the next three 25-15, 25-22, and 25-21. UNC hit .237 and had 57 kills. We lose 4 seniors this year, but got three good players to sign letters of intent. Next season should be good.

Congrats on UNI winning in the first round. Hey, keep it up. Maybe they can knock off UT.

Well, no. You must have been following the match on GameTracker. GameTracker sometimes reverses the scores (persistent technical malfunction of some sort) and that is what happened in this match. Colorado St. actually beat Washington by the scores you cited above.jjj3rd wrote:Northern Colorado had a good showing against 6 seed Washington after winning the Big Sky tourney. Ouch. Would be awesome if they can beat em.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

UNI lost today to Neb, 0-3. Thought this would be the year to knock them off
UNI finishes 32-3 on the year, I believe.

Gametracker does error sometimes, but those are accurate scores in the UNC/Washington match from Thursday night.CitadelGrad wrote:Well, no. You must have been following the match on GameTracker. Interestingly, the three teams that UNI lost to (Texas A&M, Iowa State, Nebraska) are all in the "sweet 16" of the NCAA tournament.
(and all three are playing in the Omaha regional, along with Texas. which makes it an all-Big 12 regional)

Re: Volleyball
No Gametracker, I was actually at this game, and the scores are correct, I just didn't put them in the "correct" context for a loss, i.e., 15-25, 22-25, 21-25.....my point was not necessarily about the scores as much as it was about the good showing UNC had against a highly ranked Washington team. Since this was UNC's first ever Big Sky championship, and first time in the big show.CitadelGrad wrote:Well, no. You must have been following the match on GameTracker. watching some of the semifinals on TV (well, flipping between that, the Jags/Colts game and The Mentalist).
