If he really was cheating on the wife, and the wife really did go ballistic on him which, in turn, caused the accident, I would think protecting the wife and trying to patch that whole thing up would be worth more than image and endorsements. I'm not sure what half of a billion works out to, but it sounds like a lot of money. ;)

That is a good point.

But if Tiger doesn't come clean, this will never go away. If he is trying to save his marriage I'm still not sure this is the best way.

I don't know, Americans have short attention spans...

Some other celebrity will croak or do something stupid in the coming days or weeks and the Tiger story will be pushed to the background. ;)

The best thing that could happen to Tiger is for Oprah to be hit by a bus tomorrow while high on meth and in the company of her lesbian lover. :D

This is a quote from a Rick Reilly article from July 22, 2009:
Look, in every other case, I think Tiger Woods has been an A-plus role model. Never shows up in the back of a squad car with a black eye. Never gets busted in a sleazy motel with three "freelance models." Never gets so much as a parking ticket. But this punk act on the golf course has got to stop. If it were my son, I'd tell him the same thing: "Either behave or get off the course."
Nice foreshadowing, Rick.

Tiger will not be playing in his own tourney this weekend, citing wounds suffered when his wife beat the crap out of him...er...I mean car accident.

Also, there are reports that Florida police are seeking a warrant to obtain Tigers medical reports from the beating...er...I mean car accident.

What is odd is that the FHP is denying the seeking of a warrant...

does law enforcement expend this much energy any time someone hits a tree?

Normally the subject doesn't have an army of lawyers, agents and publicists shielding them, and they talk to the police right away...

Actually I don't think you have to say anything other than to just show your registration, proof of ins., and drivers license. Neither of them have to say a thing about the incident that preceded the accident if they don't want to. The police can do their investigation and speculate on whatever they want.

This is another silly thing where the public feels entitled to know everything about a possible domestic dispute between a couple of adults that don't want to let anyone else into THEIR dispute. We are a truly vacuous fucking culture with our need to know shit like this so we can all gossip about it. Don't get me wrong...I would like to know what happened out of curiosity but I don't feel I am owed an explanation about a man that I don't know, and will never meet as far as he and his wife's personal troubles go at this moment in time.

Here's what happened: He got caught with the bitch in Austrailia...Ellen confronted him about it over Thanksgiving dinner. They fought about it for a couple hours...around 2:30 a.m. he finally broke out the pimp hand
Image
and reminded her that HE was "Tiger Fucking Woods, baby!"
Image
He's the one making $100 million a year here and HE was gonna fuck whatever he FELT like it,
Image
since she went and got all fat, flabby and loose by having a baby and went from this:
Image
to this:
Image
She grabbed whatever was handy (happened to be a 9-iron from Tiger's bag) and started swinging...
Image
He ran like a little bitch and she chased him down the driveway:
Image
He jumped in his Caddy to escape the assault and tore off down the driveway, careening into a tree in the process:
Image

Apparently, the only person who can beat Tiger with a golf club in their hand is his wife. :coffee:

Here's the text of the first e-mail joke I've received on this so far:

Tiger Woods has several expensive cars. Now he's got a hole in one.

Tiger Woods hit a fire hydrant and then a tree. Couldn't decide between an iron and a wood.

What's the difference between a golf ball and a Cadillac Escalade? Tiger can drive a golf ball almost 400 yards.

Word on the street that Elin Woods used a "rescue club" appear unfounded. It now seems she was trying to knock the crap out of a driver.

Elin Woods has secured an endorsement for her own line of golf clubs, to be advertised as "clubs you can beat Tiger with".

I do think that he should have to pay for repairs to the fire hydrant (just as anyone who damages city infrastructure should). But I'm pretty sure he can afford that.

Beyond that, it is no one's business outside their family.

Yes and I'm sure the neighbor will be compensated handsomely for his tree. If all parties are made whole and don't want to go over it any longer then it should be a done deal.

The woman was wrong (go figure).
Careless Driving Citation.
$164 fine.
FHP is going to close the investigation.

I agree. I also have no problem if FHP investigates the incident - as long a they threat this incident the same way they similiar incidents.

I also still think Tiger should have talked to FHP on day 1 instead of turning them away 3 times, but that is between Tiger and his PR advisors.

Did the incident occur on a state/US highway?
If not, wouldn't that fall under the jurisdiction of the local cops?

A lot of times vehicle accidents are investigated by HP no matter where they happen. I'm pretty sure that is how it is in MT anyway.
