And it's the PATSIES that are folding like cheap pianos.....the HORROR!!!! If Towson and Rhode Island go next, the CAA is gonna be a fuckin' bloodbath!
Who are you kidding? It already is a bloodbath. This just culls the herd and makes it even tougher.
Only ONE CAA team currently in the playoffs played more than TWO of the other CAA teams currently in the playoffs. I'd hardly call that a bloodbath. :coffee:

Imagine how much mightier we are with out those low gpi teams in the way. The CAA may just pass the MAC for conference strength without those two.

You all will hear SO much more shit now that those two teams are gone.

No you won't because you will all have to start playing each other and you won't have 4 teams with 10-1 records.

Well the bottom third now consists of TU and URI. TU scored just as many and allowed less points as BSC runner up Weber State did against W&M this year. How's that comparison?

I said you wouldn't have 4 teams with 10-1 records. I didn't say YOU wouldn't have a 10-1 record. :coffee:

Imagine a conference with:

Villanova
W&M
Richmond
UNH
JMU
Delaware
UMass
Maine
Towson

....and everybody having to play everybody. Delaware, JMU and UNH might NEVER make the playoffs (and it's a given that Maine and Towson wouldn't). :kisswink:

Move Towson to the North for 2 5 team divisions, 4 games in division, 4 games vs other division.

There is no CAA schedule at the moment, they dropped what they had when Northeastern informed them they were dropping it. This actually makes things easier for them.

The one where we end the season in Maine? Yeah, not thrilled about that one either, I always liked having the Towson bye the last week of the season.

And with 10 teams now, assuming URI doesn't drop, why wouldn't everyone play a 9 game conference schedule? Too hard to buy out some teams or are some clinging too tightly to their DII games?
it makes sense if everyone can get out of theior 3rd OOC game with either nno penalty or by rescheduling.

I've been predicting these schools dropping their programs for a couple of years. I feel bad for the Hofstra team and their fans. :(

I don't believe that URI is going to drop their program for now, but they certainly are not out of the woods.

The loss of them puts us ahead of the MAC according to Sagarin (whatever) and if we drop URI and Towson we surpass conference USA as well.

Look for a CAA move to FBS as a unit in 2011 and soon have FBS switch to a playoff system which would then, undoubtedly, lead to a constant bitch and moan while the CAA gets 5 teams in everytime.

Wonder what happens in the BSC when NAU and ISU both drop football in the coming months.

My guess is that the CAA will drop the two division concept for the next two years and go with a single.. ten team league. Each CAA team would then play eight of the nine other CAA schools and still be able to play three OOC games. Once both ODU and Georgia St enter the league (2012).. the CAA could return to the two divisions by placing ODU and Georgia St in the South and moving Villanova and Delaware to the North.

my guess is they move to add 2 teams from the Great West. Cal Poly and UC Davis? Maybe even go with Southern Utah and go 2 divisions. When the Dakotas are fully transitioned u can add them as well and go to 12 teams... maybe then you guys will lay off the CAA :coffee:

Well, as has been said on here countless times, the Great West California teams are only going to get added if the BSC drops it's requirement of being an "all sports" league. Ain't no WAY those teams are leaving their current conference affiliations for other sports. :coffee:
