Montana and Appalachian St. have 11 semi-final appearances, 3 National runner-up finishes and 4 National titles since 2000 between themselves. ESPN would be brain-dead to put the latest CAA upstarts on prime-time over the Griz and Mountaineers. ASU brings three titles to meet UM's 118 wins into Missoula for the true "Clash of FCS Titans". By all rights, this game should've been played in Chattanooga. The winner of this showdown goes on to win the National Title against, well, whomever.........

Excellent post - I'm not sure I want to see the full power of the operational Griz Death Star, especially drastically outnumbered. That being said, we've been respectable in much more daunting environments (LSU, Michigan) and I'm feeling like we're hitting our stride. ESPN should be lucky to score this matchup, especially in AE's final season. Personally, I think the winner of the game goes home happy in Chatty.....

Personally, this is a dream matchup for both schools, and a lot on the line at that! Game of the year in FCS, IMO.

Like I said when the bracket came out, game of the decade for me.

Amen GATW, if we hadn't beaten Michigan, this would be my "game of the decade." As far as FCS games, it is. I was in school in 2000, I've wanted this one for a while. My brackets are still clean with my picks too.

That's the sign of a good game - after the Montana James Madison game the smack only lasted about 3 months which was about 4 month shorter than the smack after the Wofford Montana game

The SOCON homey in me wants App to win, the Wofford homey wants Montana to win so Wofford will remain the only southern team to beat Montana at home . Should be a great game, I'll definitly be parked in front of the tv for this one.

Well, after discussions with the both the home boss & the work boss yesterday, there's no way I can swing the trip this weekend....I don't know if you understand the depths of my despair at this unfortunate turn of events...I mean, I was close to tears yesterday afternoon. The wife would have let me go, but it's a deal where the stench would linger for many moons waiting to be brought up at the first available time (soon after a fok-up, dust up, or the next big ticket purchase requirement like car break down, fridge goes out, what have you....)

On top of this my boss was willing to let me go on short notice for Friday, but Thursday was a no go as we have our Global Sales & Operations team in town this week which he will be tied up with (I'm his back-up) & my relief is out on vacation as well....the stars just weren't aligning....I'm so disappointed....

However, I, the missus & Brave just purchased our tix to Chatty & got approval for vacation next week. The more I thought about it, this was a win-win....if App wins, I'm a happy camper cheering on my alma mater...if Montana wins, I still get a chance to see the majority of you folks who, in all honesty, was the main reason I wanted to go to Missoula......Go App, Go Griz!

* I'm having to ration vacation already for the holidays

* I may have to hire an attorney to fight with my neighbor about the bullet above
* I bought a PS3 Saturday which ate into my potential travel/attorney fees
* The game will likely be in HD
* 100 ASU fans at Wa-Griz < Griz fans
