I'm pretty certain it's a 14 point ASU victory without the 12th man. AE doesn't rattle much, so good luck.

I've thought most of the season that this looked like Villanova's year, but I'm not so sure now. Lot's of reasons to argue for or against either of these CAA teams, but I like W&M to get another road win against a seed, and I think--- Montana playing at home.

If you're one of the last 4 teams standing every year, that to me says something great about our program. These games are almost always close, and will usually come down to turnovers, key penalties, etc. These are four GREAT teams, and it's kinda neat to not have a clear favorite....

AZ, if you were a CAA poster, that would be the post of the year.... :thumb:

Of the remaining 4, there is no clear favorite - or underdog IMHO.
SDSU probably didn't have a "legit shot" either, in your mind.

I actually thought SDSU would be your toughest game until Chatty.... uh... Jinx?

I'm picking Montana and W&M.

Montana seems like a no brainier though App St will probably make it a good game.

The CAA semis make for a very tough pick. Both teams look fantastic right now. However, after watching the Tribe stop the SIU offense in Carbondale last weekend, I have to pick them to win.

It IS the first legit title contender that they will play. Weber, EWU, SDSU, and SFA are all decent, but they are not on the same level as ASU. We'll see how they stack up on saturday.
It's also the first legit title contender ASU will have played. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE IN THE SEMIFINALS!!!

Why is that so fucking hard to understand? Is it the UNI education that makes you not get it? :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I'm rooting for W&M vs Nova.. that's a no brainer as it's against the law in Delaware for a Hen fan to root for Nova. I'm also hoping for a Montana win over ASU.. as Montana is great state and I wish I could get my wife to agree to move there.

But that's my heart.. unfortunately my head says Villanova and ASU will be playing in Chattanooga .

Honestly, taking all the BS and homerism out, both of these games are toss-ups....the way it should be for the Semi's..

The right answer is this is the best team that either team has faced all year. I really believe that Richomnd would have not beat us at home but ASU can. However these last 4 teams are all so good it's really a crap shoot as to who will win. I guess I would give the home teams a slight advantage, and a toss up in the title game for any 2 left.

Oh well, we're 2-1 vs. UR in the last 3 yrs. You?
1-1 this decade; we were looking forward a tie-breaker and revenge game, but Richmond was not up to it. So the revenge factor goes to Appy (ASU here means Arizona State University) since you are 0-1 against Montana. The Griz are unpredictable; the good one will beat you; the bad one won't. We'll see which one shows up Saturday.

Nova is tough. Period. W&M has had a hard time matching up with them for the past few years and both teams are hungry to finally make it to the championship game. Maybe I'm a homer, but either team will handle Montana. Montana plays in a weak league, they have several big league transfers, and they have a huge fanbase and stadium at home. But, they won't be able to run against W&M and if they can't score at least 24 points against the Tribe, it's over. Nova is strong on both sides of the ball and would beat Montana 37 - 17 on a neutral field. The last time Montana played a CAA team, they were humiliated and there are at least 4 CAA teams this season (probably 5 if U of Delaware played well) that would beat Montana. Montana's playoff schedule has been the easiest (so far) and W&M beat one of the best passing offenses 38-0 and then beat the #1 ranked team in the national on SIU's home turf 24-3. SIU's big-time running back mustered up only 20-something yards on the ground. Nova beat Temple, who will be playing in a bowl game, lost to New Hampshire and then demolished UNH Saturday. I guess any team can win on a given day, but Montana will meet their first real contender when ASU comes to town (and, they travel well). Look for ASU to win 38-24 and Nova (I hate to say) to beat W&M 27-21.

Not sure the "weak schedule" theory matters much after Montana gets in the playoffs and scores 61 and 51 against playoff teams. They faced a playoff team that won in the first round and beat them into the ground, so they seem to be playing their best against the best competition. Time to stop worrying about how weak the teams they pounded in Sept and Oct might have been.

I can see why you Griz fans get tired of hearing this. It DOES come up a lot.

I don't expect a blowout like that Saturday, but I do think Montana deserves to be favored ... probably by more than the 2.5 point early line.

Good write up and welcome.

Disagree on the Montana part - and you will see Montana is the best team in the country, but welcome and post often, and tell GATW to shut up  :thumb:

It doesn't. If it mattered Montana would never win in the playoffs. The people who use it as an argument agaist the Griz are either:

a) guilty of "weak thinking"
b) just trying to get a rise out of Griz fans

Delaware would not have beaten Montana this year, even if the game were played in Newark.
