Trust me when I say that it will magically reappear during reconciliation with the House bill. It's just gone now to reduce the pressure.mainejeff wrote:Now, we'll all have affordable healthcare.

Instead of more affordable healthcare for the less fortunate, we are getting less healthcare for more people and more money.

If BHO wants a healthcare bill under his Christmas tree, the PO is gone for good.mainejeff wrote:We'll see.........

It's bad enough without the PO but I don't trust our representatives to keep it out before final passage.Ivytalk wrote:If BHO wants a healthcare bill under his Christmas tree, the PO is gone for good.mainejeff wrote:We'll see.........

That's right, and to make a profit from it is pretty much forbidden in every other industrialized nation that provides it for less money with at least equal to if not better health outcomes.clenz wrote:Stop calling it heath care...because it isn't. It's health insurance.
Thank god we don't have that.

If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

I believe I just saw some poll numbers indicating %60 want a public option. Too lazy to look it up.

Re: Thank god that the public option has been dropped!
The linked article says that 41% are for the plan while 51% oppose it.
More telling is that 41% strongly oppose it, while only about 28% (I think) strongly support it.
Are we now resorting to simply saying that about 60% support this nonsense in the face of a link that says otherwise? Sounds like Harry Reid telling us that the sky is green again.

believe it or not, I actually was in favor of a public option, as long as it was an OPTION.

Not all of them were Southern Baptists, damnit. Some were Methodist, and one Presbyterian who believed he was "pre-destined" to be there at that moment, with food stamps, sharing that moment with you.mainejeff wrote:Really???.........is that why I saw all of those conservative white Southern Baptists clogging the Wal-Mart checkouts with their food stamps while I lived in Tennessee???Ivytalk wrote:
