Don't kid youreslf.. it's difficult to look impressive vs the kind of defense that W&M plays. SIU and Weber St rudely discovered that fact when they combined for a grand total of 3 points vs the Tribe. Neither ASU or Montana have anywhere near the defensive abilities of a W&M.. so don't expext either one to limit the Nova offense as did the Tribe last night. Nova's offense is pretty solid and their defense is better than either Montana or ASU. I said all along that Nova was the best team in the CAA and the FCS and I've seen nothing from ASU or Montana that would cause me to alter that opinion.

I give credit to Villanova for shutting down Karim (27 yards) and holding SIU to 3 points. I give them credit for getting to their first NC game, a great feat. IMO Villanova is a solid team, but ASU would match up well with them on both sides of the ball and has more athletes and speed than Nova. Edwards and company would eat up that Secondary and AE would torch that defense on the ground. Just my opinion of course. App is 2-0 against CAA teams in the NC, I'd like our chances if we get to Chattanooga.

I'm sure chicken Man will chime in later, but if you are looking for comments, I saw Montana only stumble to 24 points against a soft ASU D.
I saw Montana's QB get rattled into 11-27 passing against that same suspect defense.
I saw Montana try to run against ASU...something that teams can do. But the nova defense is not as soft as ASU.
I saw Montana win at home...probably a loss anywhere else.
I did see a decent Montana D. But, nothing that would scare anyone.

In 0 degree weather with snow blowing and high winds - snow on the field and rock hard footballs. What are the Wildcats now, NFL caliber? Come on, give those teams the credit they deserve.
Face it, Montana made the NC game for the second time in a row. They deserve some kudos, as does Nova. To say Montana won because they were home can be turned against Nova too. It wasn't an impressive game I saw unfold in Philly...by either team. Call it major D if you will, I call it mind numbingly dull. Wait for Friday and let the players play it out on the field.
