Great point. The problem is their taxes should have been raised to during the bubble's rise and to offset the debt we were incurring under Bush. At this point we should be doing everything possible for companies that employ people and produce goods domestically, while taxing the shit out of the multinationals that have outsourced or moved operations elsewhere like Halliburton. And we should likewise be taxing the shit out of the financial services sector that created the recession.Pwns wrote:Kalm, are you seriously suggesting we should raise taxes on corporations in the middle of a recession? I mean, I knew donks tend to think of the economy as a completely static system in which nothing is interconnected, but raising taxes on corporations with unemployment most likely still rising?

By the same token if you believe we're still fighting the War on Terror, you should also be for tax increases to support the war effort. And the first place some of those dollars should go is to pay our troops more for their service and give the wounded everything they need to recover and enjoy their post service life.
There are enough people out there with 4 homes or billion dollar football stadiums to help the country get back on its feet. It's the patriotic thing to do.
