Yeah I get ya, those people are pretty silly and hanging on to shit that never existed in the first place. Good for them.AZGrizFan wrote:And it's those message board folks I'm talkin' about. I know a few guys that played for him personally and I never heard them say a bad word about the guy so I'll have to assume that the "Joe left us high & dry and just walked out" is a Griz message board state of mind that has been perpetuated for quite some time now.![]()

Sorry, Mr. T. I thought I'd seen a reference on eGriz to that. It doesn't jive with his Carroll bio. I retract it. But the main point of my post still stands: MVD is a VERY good coach and deserves a look should he choose to apply.MrTitleist wrote:Where the hell did MVD get Pro coaching? Not the best candidate for the job, IMO.SuperHornet wrote:I'm shocked that the one name that's generating the most angst at eGriz hasn't come up here.
From all reports, Mike Van Diest is a VERY good coach, has pro/FBS coaching pedigree, and a championship record.

A couple of guys on the eGriz Facebook page are espousing Dave Dickenson.

Your sarcasm is ill-placed. Given Holmgren's cushy new prez position, he'd hardly take ANY college job, much less the Griz job.

Anyone that suggests DD as a coaching candidate should be kicked in the nuts. Seriously.

My vote is for Dave Doeren - Currently at Wisconsin, before that was at Kansas, was at UM in '00 & '01, was at USC before Missoula.
Seems to have a great defensive mind, Joe Glenn thought the world of him & apparently he thinks very fondly of his time in Missoula & the Griz.

Q: What coach did Dave Doeren play for and what coach gave Doeren his start in coaching?griz37 wrote:My vote is for Dave Doeren - Currently at Wisconsin, before that was at Kansas, was at UM in '00 & '01, was at USC before Missoula.

Wild rumors abounded when the news of his resignation at NDSU, only to be dashed to pieces with UNC's retaining of Downing and company.,
Joe's no good without his supporting cast, Breske is indeed, available.

These two ... no one would beat the defense, if what I've been reading is correct about Doeren.griz37 wrote:I wouldn't mind Doeren coming in & hiring Breske as DC.Wedgebuster wrote:

Actually I think they should pick some of the fans that post on egriz, they seem to know everything there is about football.
If you don't like what I say you can PM me and get handled.
