Well, well, we-e-e-llllll.....lookie who showed up! Here's a link to ANOTHER example of what I'm talking about....Obama's about to piss this "sure thing" and this "landslide" down his leg...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26308429
In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.
The turnaround is nothing short of stunning.

Wow. You were a little slow on the uptake there, Appy. I thought you were gonna sulk off into a corner and let that comment go unchallenged. See, the difference is, I've been a McCain supporter since 1994. I've always liked the man. And no, I DON'T think he'll be McSame or McBush....I had to plug my nose in 2000 and 2004 because Bush wasn't who I wanted representing my party, but he was certainly better than the alternative. And I learned in 1992 (after voting for Ross Perot) that wasting a vote CAN put an idiot in the white house (i.e., Clinton). I'm not about to make THAT mistake again. I understand the moral dilema here, but if NC is even remotely close, I'd hate to think that I helped put Obama in the white house by wasting a vote on Barr. Just my 2 cents...

Yeah...sorry for the tardiness...had to go dig a new trench to straight pipe some sewage fromt he outhouse to the crick. Well, you can rest easy......the only thing more certain than a democrat in the Governor's seat in NC is that NC will go for the Republicans in all national elections......hence, the reason, I want a third party to garner as many votes as possible.....

.....and the lead continues to shrink....now down to a mere 21 electoral votes.

So, at this point when McCain picks up Virginia (currently tied) and Colorado goes red (which it has handily the last two elections) It's John McCain, President of the United States. I just have to laugh at all the people who were counting their chickens in June/early July when Obama was king of the world.

I wrote in Tony Shaloob in 92. :geek:
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

I'm not proud of having to vote for Bush II or Dole.....but given the alternatives provided, I wasn't left with much choice.

I won't have that problem this election. The guy I wanted in 2000 is getting to sit behind the Resolute desk.... ;) ;)
