Unfortunately they were marginalized by the overwhelming majority of the media as the truth didn't fit their agenda. It is also unfortunate that we are collectively all stuck with this situation for at least 3 more years, in which time bills can be passed, money spent, promises made that this nation will never recover from.

Remember this: ALL politicians, regardless of party affiliation or ideology, are in politics for one reason and one reason only- the acquisition, expansion, and retention of power. Our tax money, lawfully earned by the working citizens of this nation and taken at the point of a gun, is the capital politicians use to further that very basic agenda. As less and less of the populace shoulders more and more of the burden under our unfair system of progressive taxation, the balance of power skews and will (you may argue has) become out of balance and the system will be irreparably broken.

Remember this too: Every dollar a politician takes from a business owner like me is a dollar that I won't reinvest into my community in the form of creating jobs and buying goods and services from my neighbors.
With the exception of a small increase under Clinton which helped balance the budget, taxes on the wealthy and corporations has been going down ever since Reagan while the weatlh gap has increased dramtically, wages have been stagnant, and good paying manufacturing jobs have been replaced with the service industry. It's the opposite of what you think.

And btw, demand creates jobs, not business owners. So if you take your ball and go home while there is still a market for your product or you cut expenses and thereby the quality of your service or product, someone else will fill that void.

I've been down this road with Baldy...
(good luck)

No matter how things "Change", they always seem to stay the same. :ohno: :ohno:

He's sure turned out to be a friend of Politics as usual...
We need a few more Republicans in congress to grid lock this secret horse-sh!t
A House & Senate Majority of any party is ALWAYS a bad thing

:wtf:
Yep, why I was so disappointed in the outcome of the Minnesota senate seat. Not that I thought Coleman was better than Franken (they both suck), but a Coleman victory would at least create some deadlock in the senate....little did I now that Dems wouold create enough deadlock in the dem senate to buy us until 2010 election we hope...

The alternative at LEAST would have created a gridlock to get us 4 years further down the pike instead of the shitpile we're going to be left with now. :coffee: :coffee:

I think there are many progressives AND independents who would like a "mulligan" on their vote in November of 2008, had they known then what they know now. Obviously for very different reasons, but a mulligan nonetheless. :coffee: :ugeek: :x

For me, personally:

1984
1988
1996
2000
2004
2008

That's about it. In 1980 (my first presidential election) I voted for John Anderson.
In 1992 I voted for Ross Perot :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: and helped get Slick Willy elected. :x :x
These are the two reasons why I have a hard time voting for Ron Paul, as much as I might like his message....but we've beaten that dead horse before.... :coffee:

Heck, I didn't start voting until 2004 (shamefully.... :ohno: )...voted for Kerry as a protest to W...voted 3rd party in last one (couldn't write in Ron Paul or invalidated NC ballot I believe)....would have voted W in 2000 & Dole in 1996 (shamefully.... :ohno: :ohno: ...really disappointed in myself for even considering that even though I didn't vote)...

Interesting, ain't it? A vote for Ross Perot in 1992 was essentially a vote for Clinton. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

If all the folks who voted for Clinton only because he wasn't Bush would have voted for Perot, the outcome could have been different...a lesson I failed to heed in 2004....

You'd be amazed at how many women voted for Clinton because he was "handsome". :ohno: :ohno:
