I like how Kelly and Thomas (or as my Dad calls them #11 and #12) progressed towards the end of the season at WR.
I have no problems at all with Landry either EXCEPT for his tendency to bite real hard on double moves. That can be learned though (see Carlos Rogers as an example). He is the hardest hitter they've had since Sean Taylor.
And don't forget that Horton has been out for most of the year...(and only in his second year)

There isn't any problem right now with the secondary, except for maybe depth.

Snyder has one huge problem, one he shares with Davis and a ton of other professional owners in many sports right now: the you-gotta-win-now syndrome. It's very rare that a coach can get a team from the pits to the penthouse in one year, but with these idiot owners, that's about all you get. It ensures that these teams REMAIN in the cellar until they sell the team. It takes FIVE YEARS in a lot of cases to rebuild from the bottom. That's been proven throughout sports history. Until these idiots GET that, these teams will remain the POS's they currently are.

The only way he can do it is with $$$$, more on the lines of what Steinbrenner did with the Yankees.

But baseball doesn't have a salary cap....you can buy a good team...

Football requires developing a good team...which requires time...

Snyder has been willing to spend the money, it hasn't worked. Also, as the Col. noted, the NFL has a salary cap, so Snyder is limited in his spending.

I give you:

Ken Wisenhunt, Arizona Cardinals....

2002: 5-11 (Dave McGinnis)
2003: 4-12 (Dave McGinnis)
2004: 6-10 (Denny Green)
2005: 5-11 (Denny Green)
2006: 5-11 (Denny Green)
2007: 8-8 (Ken Wisenhunt)
2009: 9-7, NFC West Division Champions, NFC Champions, Super Bowl losers (Wisenhunt)
2009: 10-6, NFC West Division Champions and counting

5 years my ass. :coffee: And there ain't NOBODY that can say with a straight face that the Cardinals weren't at "the bottom". :twocents:

Miami Dophins went from 1-15 to 11-5 by bringing in Parcells and a bunch of Montana guys. :D
Baltimore Ravens went from 5-11 to 11-5 by dumping Billick and bringing in Flacco :kisswink:
Green Bay Packers went from 4-12 to 13-3 in 2 years by dumping Mike Sherman.
New Orleans Saints went from 3-13 to 10-6 in 1 year by dumping Haslet and bringing in Marques Colston. :thumb:

....and the list goes on and on....

Living proof that it doesn't HAVE to take 5 years....with the NFL's parity and reverse scheduling difficulty, if it's a good coach/system it shouldn't take more than TWO years.

I agree, here is another example:

St Louis Rams
1995 7-9
1996 6-10
1997 5-11
1998 4-12
1999 16-3 Super Bowl Champs

Thanks to parity, an NFL team can turn it around in 1 year with luck. 5 years is way too long to turn a team around, if it takes more than 3 you are not doing it right.

Outside of a VERY short period with Williams, the Redskins haven't had a decent QB since Taylor destroyed Theismann.

Snyder = Davis minus the bugs in the locker room. You don't give a guy a job and then can him after one or two years w/o giving him player personnel support. That said, they'd have been better off with Zorn under center than any of the guys they played this year.

Yeah, their Super Bowl XXVI MVP in 1991, with 3,564 yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 14-2 regular season record, had a pretty shitty year. :?

And what about Shuler? Oh, wait...
Shane Matthews? Uh, nope...
Danny Wuerffel? Well, goddammit...
Frerotte? Uh, shit...
Jeff George? Dammit again...
Mark Brunell? Fuck...
Patrick Ramsey? Fuck...again...

Well, I guess other than the first QB I mentioned, you are completely right. :ohno:

That 1991 team was a thing of beauty.

Brad Johnson wasn't a bad QB.

No doubt. Back then everyone hated the Redskins because of their success. Now people just hate the Redskins because they don't like Indian people. :ohno:

I purposely left off Johnson because he was one of the better QBs. Not great by any means, but he did pretty well.

Looking back, the 99 and 00 seasons we were snake bit as far as the kicking game. The GD'ed Turk brothers buttfvcked us out of the playoffs. I don't even feel sorry for the one that died either. Then in 00 we lose 4 game by less than 3 points because Snyder didn't want to wait two weeks for Conways stained thigh to heal and Norv gets a raw deal getting canned when they are 7-6 and in the middle of the wild card chase. WTF?

Wow, you have a good memory. I was drunk through both 1999 and 2000, so it was all a fucking blur.

I curse the Turk bros any chance I get.
And I was no Norv fan, but we lost those 4 game because of not wanting to carry an extra kicker for two weeks. We went through like 4-5 post Conway. Snyder would fire them after each of those loses that were direct because they missed a kick. Make those kicks and we were 10-3 or 9-4, does Norv deserve to get fired then? F Snyder. Schottenheimer turned it around in 01, goodbye. Spurrier gets rid of Stephen Davis to run his pass happy offense with retards at QB...

I haven't had any real true passion for the Skins since 2002. Maybe briefly with the Gibbs coming back, but that was quickly snuffed out when he was completely clueless on the sideline.
