Actually, hempdawg, I just had dinner on Wed. with a group of friends who brought along a "third wheel", a stoner/baby boomer gal in her mid 50's who never matured (much like yourself) who hasn't bought much dope over the past year due to her fear of going into bad neighborhoods (and dealing with bad people) to buy her pot. One of her new year resolutions is to get a scrip so she can buy from dispensaries.

Much of this legalization crap emanates from the baby boomer/stoners reaching the age where their Honda Pilots look out of place in ghetto projects, or they don't want to get cold having to park around the corner and walk two blocks to buy from the no'er do well 36 yr old full-time student who sells dope, yet still asks Mommy and Daddy to pay his rent.

A drive-through solution for a generation of fast-food stoners/losers.

And the government gets a cut too.

Simple. Do a study. Have one group smoke a pack (20) cigarettes a day for a decade. Have another group smoke 20 joints a day for a decade. See which group at the end has more health issues. My $ would be on the 20 joints a day.

The Tax and Regulate Initiative has far more than the nearly 434,000 signatures needed to make the statewide ballot, said Richard Lee, well-known Oakland medical marijuana entrepreneur and the initiative's main backer. Campaign organizers say they will submit more than 650,000 signatures of registered voters next month.
The proposal would legalize possession of up to one ounce of marijuana for adults 21 and older. Residents could cultivate marijuana gardens up to 25 square feet. City and county governments would determine whether to permit and tax marijuana sales within their boundaries.

A decade long study is simple?

Anyway, your methodology is wrong, at least on the pot end. 20 cigarrettes may be near the average smokers daily intake, give or take. The average pot smoker maybe smokes a joint or two a week, give or take. The average pot smoker is recreational and not habitual.

No one has ever died of pot. 100,000 people a day die from cigarrette smoke.

No, they would just grow it, or go without until demand drives prices down. Pot is not addictive like cocaine or heroin.

Yeah, I know no one smokes 20 joints a day like a lot of smokers smoke a pack a day. I was simply stating a one to one comparison (one cigarette vs one unfiltered joint), I think the joint is worse. Both of them contain lots of chemicals that aren't good for you.

True, its never been proven anyone has died of pot, but as is the case with smokers, a lot of people in the medical field believe heavy pot smokers are at increased risk for lung cancer. But you could say the same thing about about fat ass heavy junk food eaters who have increased risks of heart attacks. But the junk food doesn't kill them, a heart attack does.

100k people a day die from cigarette smoke??? (which would be roughly 36 million a year). Link??

I understand. I'm just saying the 1 to 1 comparison is relatively meaninless for your argument. I agree, smoking anything is bad for your lungs, but cigarrettes are way worse.

Pot like alcohol and coffee, is a good thing for the responsible.

Hash brownies? Hell, as has already been mentioned in this thread, a vaporizer will get rid of most of the nasty shit before it gets to your lungs.

You know not what you speak, hempdawg. I have many friends out here who still partake. NONE grow their own. Most comes from Asian and Mexican gang house operations done in leased housing. The large "forest" operation product from the North Coast and Foothills is shipped out of state.

Growing hybrids like #7 is very labor intensive and require culling 80% of the seedlings (male). Furthermore, the utility companies work in conjunction with the DEA to identify mom & pop growers, hence, for the "average" user, the time and risks are too great to justify the savings.

Try again.

Seems to be a link here common to the polarized sides in the now aging debate over whether or not Iraq perpetrated the attacks of 9/11/01.

Could it be that those who feel the "war on drugs" which is really a "war on pot" is ridiculous, are also to a person those who believe the invasion of Iraq was unnecessary, while those who believe Hussein had a major role in the attacks are the same who think this "war on pot" is justified, and therefore essential?

There are a hundred different ways to use weed that have nothing to do with smoking. And if you still want to smoke you can use a vaporizer pipe to get rid of the bad crap.
Only two ways to use tabaccy and both suck, smoke it or chew it. Not to mention weed is weed tabaccy is a **** load of crap. Here is a partial list of the 599 added ingrediants...

# Arsenic used in rat poison
# Acetic Acid hair dye and photo developer
# Acetone main ingredient in paint and fingernail polish remover
# Ammonia a typical household cleaner
# Benzene rubber cement
# Cadmium found in batteries and artists' oil paint
# Carbon Monoxide poison
# Hydrazine used in jet and rocket fuels
# Formaldehyde used to embalm dead bodies
# Hydrogen Cyanide poison in gas chambers
# Napthalenes used in explosives, moth balls, and paint pigments
# Nickel used in the process of electroplating
# Phenol used in disinfectants and plastics
# Polonium radiation dosage, equal to 300 chest X-rays in one year
# Toluene embalmer's glue

No, why I find comical is just like people who are against smoking pot exaggerating its dangers, is people who are for smoking pot trying to deflect by exaggerating the dangers of smoking cigarettes.

After all, both can be grown in your backyard.

I don't smoke either, and gave up dip 6 years ago, but I do smoke the occasional (maybe a couple doz a year) cigar.

Agree....you can't roll up tobacco leaves to smoke & get same experience as cigarettes....I've tried....it sucks....

You brought the issue up.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."
