It's jokingly called "being a complete dumbass".
Question for D1B: Is it possible to NOT believe ANY of THAT and still believe in God? I'm a firm believer, but also believe that the bible is more a book of fables handed down through the generations than a documentary of life on earth during those times. I doubt anybody lived to be 600 years old...I don't think anyone walked in the desert for 40 years...I don't think the earth was covered with water from a giant flood, and I don't think God rained fire down on Soddom and Gomorrah (sp?) because they were "sinners". I DO believe, however, that there may have been a great flood (precipitated by God knows what) that covered the majority of the earth near where the story originated...I believe that there may have been a scientific explanation for the destruction of Soddom and Gomorrah...etc., etc., etc. Does that make me a bad Christian?

Answer - yes, of course. But how boring would that be? :geek:

If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

OK, but only if you promise not to laugh...

...it's really, really personal.

Around 1982, I became engaged to my first wife. We were both still pretty young, and learning about "worldly" things. Sex was great, but we yearned to learn more about our existence, our purpose. Having read the "Masters", studied at universities, even having taught by that age, it just seemed something important was missing.

Then, around New Years, we were planning on going out with friends, and normally that would have meant our spending the evening with many of her attractive, single girlfriends, many of whom I knew had the hots for me.

Anyway, being the good hearted man that I am, I suggested rather than going out and spending the night hanging with her attractive friends, we just have a nice meal at home, and spend "some money" on a great bottle of wine.

Not $9, or $10, or even $11 or $12 dollars, but the outrageous sum of $45. So, off I went in search of this "special" bottle. I found this one true wine "cellar" in northern California that stocked many fine beverages, and after great amount of contemplation, chose a bottle.

The night of New Years came, and we prepared a fine meal of quail, pate, and had great conversation about our dreams, goals, passions, and plans for children. It was during that conversation, while dining, I realized I had selected an exceptional bottle of wine, perhaps the finest wine ever made. And then, it struck me...

It was at that moment I realized that it was God's plan for me to spend the rest of my life...

...drinking great wine and head fvcking Type-A dipsh!ts.

And the wine that night?

The 1978 Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon. Irrefutable proof of God's existence.

We hosted Blueball last weekend. Lot's of fishing and drinking and laughing. Cap'n just got back home earlier today. Hopefully he'll post some pictures here soon.
