Your Favorite Dark Horse?
Re: Your Favorite Dark Horse?
UC Davis!
Re: Your Favorite Dark Horse?
As much as I want my beloved Mustangs to go all the way, I will have to say that the Griz are the likely ones! I guess they would not be considered a "dark horse", okay then, how about the Aggies of UC Davis? They always play tough and this is their first year of eligibilty!
Re: Your Favorite Dark Horse?
I think that Illinois State could be a dark house. Go Redbirds!

I second the motion for the Salukis being a Dark horse!skinny_uncle wrote:You've gotta love a football team with a coach named Kill.Tom McNally wrote: I had to pick them because, no pun intended, Jerry Kill would kill me if I didn't pick them.

I'll say Maine, they play tough, and I believe they'll have a better year than most think. UC Davis is still a dark horse as they have yet to put a solid 8 o 9 win FCS season together, and with a new QB brewing, it'll be a little out of nowhere, for me anyways.

***HOMER ALERT***
going with my beloved Flames of Liberty as the ultimate spoiler.
if all goes as planned- by midseason the rest of you may be sitting up, noticing, and asking- "where did THEY come from?"
if all does NOT go as planned- I will be slinking back and furtively attempting to delete this

Sam Houston may not be much of a darkhorse, if at all, in their own conference. But on the national scene, I think so. I'm going to go with them as a darkhorse come playoffs.

Re: Your Favorite Dark Horse?
Remember Nick Hill? He's the QB who tossed the 45 yard bomb in the last minute that turned the game around. He will be back this year. So will Alan Turner (the guy that caught the TD pass). Just thought you would like to know.weems wrote:Do the Saluki's have a better team that they did last year? I know in the playoff's last year they should have been whipped by utmartin, but they came out and showed resilience, while UTM had already packed up and started celebrating. I don't think UTM will win it all, but i think we will win a playoff game or two.

Going with the Citadel. They've been improving and working hard the past few seasons and I think this season they will surprise everyone.

UCA will turn the SLC on it's head, then have to sit at home while 2nd best goes to post-season.Grizball wrote:Sam Houston may not be much of a darkhorse, if at all, in their own conference. But on the national scene, I think so. I'm going to go with them as a darkhorse come playoffs.
