If there are those that think I was against this forum, you need to understand that what I've always appreciated most is FCS discussion. Having the FCS community split was not something I wanted, because it was important and still is to have many different opinions and sources shared.
Unfortunately, as it happened, the split came about with many members of AGS divided between that forum and this location. As we all can attest to - most of the bad tension between members of the two boards stemmed from remarks and actions made by other individuals - particularly the former owner of AGS.
Some of the things said on both sides were nasty and uncalled for. A quick glance at threads involving yours truly, show that the nasty remarks by a select few even carried into a thread regarding my 18 year old brother's passing. Clearly, very inappropriate - though I do understand that some individuals will just be immature and I can be thick skinned if I need to.
I think my role with AGS was relatively confused by many because of my ties to the owner of AGS. I can assure you that what people think of my role was greatly exaggerated and very limited in scope.
As most of you know, most of my involvement with AGS came from my role (still current role at that) with College Sporting News, which was affiliated with AGS under the previous regime. That role involved football and if you could measure the percentage of posts I made on AGS - a clear 90% of them were relating to FCS.
When AGS headed south in recent weeks, I outreached to the new owner - Joey - and did what I could to save the board. Unfortunately, he did not know what FCS was and referred to the subdivision as "Division II". This was indicative of where we were going...
If I did anyone wrong, I apologize. If you did not like AGS or do not like CSN - I am sorry. But, hopefully we can unite on this board as one FCS community. I was not the first, nor I will be the last AGS convert to come to this forum.
Luckily, as I have talked to Chris, I realize that he has a love of football. I am on this board to talk football and particularly, the FCS brand that I am passionate about. Hope you join me...

Most of you know me from Any Given Saturday. If not, I am probably one of the more passionate FCS posters you'll come across. I promote this brand as hard as I can and try to be somewhat informative, particularly about the Southland Conference.
As unfortunate as it is to see such a "good friend" depart due to an owner that believed that FCS was "Division II", it is time to look ahead, so here I am! While I never made my way over to this board to post since posting on one national FCS board was time-consuming enough, I did lurk from time to time. Now, I am here and I am ready to talk about this great brand of football with all of you.
It is great to be reunited with good people through our love of the highest level of championship football the NCAA has to offer. I look forward to engaging in FCS talk and doing what I can to contribute to these forums.
So, let's get down to business and do what we do best - let's talk FCS!

I've already completed my 2010 Strategic Plan, finalized the 2010 operating budget, and held a senior management meeting.

Keep in mind that up until about 3 weeks ago we though we were merging into another larger credit union. So, yes, we ARE running a little bit late. Historically I like to get the budget approved in November and the strategic plan in December....

I'm not saying your story is fabricated by any means TT, but something doesn't add up for me: As passionate about FCS football as Ralph was/is, how in the FUCK did he manage to find the ONE AGS member who apparently looked upon FCS as "Division II" and had no respect for our subdivision to sell the board to? According to Ralph's own swan song on CSN, the new owner was a member of AGS....WHY would someone who was apparently NOT a fan be a member, and then BUY a board that spent about 80% of its time discussing the very level of football that he (Joey) didn't respect?

There is actually an answer for your question based on Ralph's post on CSN. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the guy that owns it now isn't the guy that Ralph sold it to originally. The guy who TT is referencing as calling it DII obtained ownership after the "fan" pulled out of the deal. Sort of a default.

If you read Ralph's blog post, you'll note that, "Then in December the fan suffered a financial crisis and pulled out." Joey was not the person that Ralph wanted to sell to, but ended up being the person/entity to take AGS over.
Well, now that I've gone to try to quote more things - looks like you guys caught this one.
And yes, Joey did not have a true understanding of the board - but wanted to utilize it for monetary reasons. Not sure how he was going to turn that $$$, but I am guessing advertising would have been prominent on the board.
