Yup! I am for more free speech, not less.

Methinks the "progressives" doth protest toooooo much. Are they afraid of the message?

If Tim Tebow and Focus on the Family are so stupid, let them hoist themselves on their own petard for the world to see.
Agree. Progressives either:

A- undermine their own message of progress or
B- show their true colors & real message or
C- all of the above

with their feigned outrage at what essentially is nothing more than exercising your freedom of speech.

These attacks on Tebow are stupid. That guy is a breath of fresh air compared to the spoiled narcissist athlete we hear about on the TV. He's going to make mistakes and when he does, guys like mainjeff, D1B are going to be all over it.

Just leave politics out of my football! Dammit, there's a time and a place and I don't want to see that during the Super Bowl--and if they've prohibited political type ads before, then they need to stick to the policy.

I don't run Super Bowl commercials to promote myself, my religion, or my agenda.

Here's an interesting commentary from a somewhat middle of the road commentator at the Washington Post. I wonder what is going on over there. First this, and then Richard Cohen bashes the Obama Administration on their handling of terrorism issues.

How do you know she is "somewhat middle of the road".....? I'm assuming that refers to her politics? Does she write very frequently on politics? Enough to gauge her stance? Doesn't look like it to me:

So, did you pull the "somewhat middle of the road commentator" out of your ass or what? Do you do that frequently? :ohno: :kisswink:

This entire thread is ridiculous. I agree with Big Sky Bears. Like him or not, Tim Tebow is by all accounts a great kid, and a phenomenal college athlete who has inarguably done more good than harm with his life thus far. If he chooses to support families in an ad, how is that hateful? How is that political? Are liberals against families? Are liberals saying babies such as Tebow should not be born or that his family cannot be proud of their decision to have him?

The answer is of course no. The hypocrisy here is palpable.

No, I did not. She is a friend of my aunt who lives here in No VA. I happen to know her politics.

I am beginning to see your MO, KY. Do you actually take issue with the article, or are you just trying to be a cvnt?

breaking news

i will admit that i havent fact checked this

on the way home from work heard something very very interesting on the radio

when mrs tebow was pregnant, abortion was not yet a legal medical procedure

she's lying about being advised to terminate the pregnancy, as any doctor that would have done so faced losing his/her medical license and been put in jail for 2 to 6 years.

Tebow was born in 1987. Abortion became legal in 1973. If TT's mom wanted one and couldn't have got it in the Philippines, then she could have came back to the US to get one.

I think it's the theme that "Doctors recommended that she abort the baby," when in fact they probably couldn't legally...

And she could have easily hopped a flight over to the US to have it done legally. It may have been illegal to PERFORM the procedure in the Phillipines, but not to advise a US citizen to go to the US to have a procedure done that was legal in the US. From the Phillippines LA and San Fran would have more direct daily flights than any other mainland US cities. I'm sure she could have easily found numerous abortion clinics in those 2 liberal bastions.

This is much a do about nothing from the hot air post.

SK, you don't have to be a prick. I was sent the article and thought it added another take on the issue from someone who is personally pre-choice (a similar position to mine, although for different reasons). By your calculus, she is not qualified to comment because she is a sprts writer. By that same calculus you are also not qualified to comment, so maybe you should just STFU?

I'm glad to see that FOTF and the good Dr. Dobson are branching out. Now, not only are they into hate, they have added lying as a service they offer.

Did you read the article...She clearly states her position...
I'm pro-choice, and Tebow clearly is not. But based on what I've heard in the past week, I'll take his side against the group-think, elitism and condescension of the "National Organization of Fewer and Fewer Women All The Time." For one thing, Tebow seems smarter than they do.

If you want to argue semantics, then that's quite alright. You can take out 'middle of the road' and insert 'pro-choice'. Does that unbind your panty hose now? She even states in her article that she is pro-choice (and in the current political atmosphere that alone puts her in the middle of the road) but I guess you wouldn't know that since you shot your load before even bothering to read it.

Typical angry lefty.
