Montana MBB
I was just looking through some stuff over on Montanagrizzlies.com and was shocked. The Griz this year are going to be playing Duke and Washington. We hopefully can take something away from both of those games and better ourselves for conference play.

Playing Gonzaga and other tournament teams hasn't seemed to do us a lot of good in conference so I don't know if it'll do anything but give us an ass kickin'. It's good to see them on the schedule though.grizzaholic wrote:I was just looking through some stuff over on Montanagrizzlies.com and was shocked. The Griz are playing an exhibition tournament in Calgary this weekend so we'll get an early idea what '08-'09 may look like. The team only returns 5 players from last year (not counting redshirts) so the newbies should benefit from some valuable bonus game experience.

That is no doubt. I really hope this year's squad really shows up for the games. It would be good to get people packed into the BB arena again, and not just for Griz/Bobcat games.

Can anybody tell me why the Griz BB team played 4 exibition games then have 2 months off until they play another one? Did they do that last year as well? Was it because of all of the new faces?

It's one of those international tournament type-of-things that teams are allowed to do every so often. These games aren't really attached to the actual '08-09 season & the I assume the Griz didn't have a say in when U Calgary scheduled the tournament. Typically, a team doesn't even play any exhibition games until the end of October. Those Canadian games were just a helpful & atypical bonus pre-preseason.

Much appreciated. I just couldn't wrap my head around to as why they played so much earlier than the rest.
