I'm not sure if you're going flat rate or not, that's probably about a .5 for danefan.

I've reviewed a bill or two from the northeast...I'd have approximately one to zero clients if I charged that down here.

No kidding about somebody else's pocket. I've paid for a couple of partner's vacations in my day. Ivytalk's on the other side. He cracks the whip.

Between his direct hours and the client credit he gets for the work done on his clients worldwide (last year he had work being done in all of our 69 offices around the world) he's the #1 earner in my firm worldwide.

Keeps me busy which is good.....I guess.

(Now if they'd only pay me what I'm worth....I'd feel better about it)

You'd be more than willing to pay $1000/hr if you ran a multi-billion dollar a year company and wanted to save hundreds of millions in taxes a year worldwide.

That was gonna be my next point - if you can save 20 million in taxes with a one million dollar legal bill, you'll do it.

The whole system is corrupt. The only solution is to restore the Republic to a more balanced libertarian structure as intended by the founders, abolish the IRS income tax and replace it with a much smaller "flat" or "fair" tax, reduce overall federal taxes to about 25% of the current amount, make unearned entitlements 80% pay/go (80% earned) and reduce the size of the federal government by about 80%.

Just so you know - the majority of tax savings we get our clients is through structured negotiations with foreign jurisdictions for tax holidays and advanced intercompany pricing agreements ("APA"). We do some tax planning with the US (particularly when we need to get money back into the US or to avoid Subpart F income or take advantage of Domestic Production Deductions), but the vast majority of money actually saved by US Multinationals is saved through foreign tax planning.
