Norfolk State put a bow on its 2010 football schedule Monday, reaching an agreement to finish the season at Savannah State. The deal with Savannah State completes a slate that features five home games and six away, beginning with a visit to Rutgers that will be played either Sept. 2 or 4.
The Spartans had been hunting for a final opponent after Winston-Salem State abandoned plans to move to Division I and into the MEAC and instead returned to the Division II CIAA.
“That last date is tough to fill,” coach Pete Adrian said. “We were glad to get it.”
The Spartans will play homes games against North Carolina A&T, Virginia State, Florida A&M, Morgan State and Delaware State. The game with the Trojans will be played Sept. 18 – the first time since 1990 the teams will not meet over Labor Day weekend.
