When did you come to a game in the Dome? Oh, right, you didn't....so you actually have no idea what it's like.CAA Flagship wrote:Do you play basketball in that dump too? Dump? Who told you that? Dullawhere? It's not a dump, with the additions and remodeling that has been done it is one of the nicest stadiums in the FCS...minus the Red, Blue, and Yellow seating.CAA Flagship wrote:Do you play basketball in that dump too? No, we don't play our basketball games in there any more. We play them in the McLeod Center
Oh...and if you travel to Iowa for the BB game I'd be glad to show you the dome, the brand new locker rooms, and the weight room that caused the people who built it to say it is the nicest one they have done with the exception of Florida's.

Re: Stadium Nicknames?
It's called "The Wack" most often, from my experience.chrisattsu wrote:Texas State plays on Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium. Sometimes I hear people say, "Pack the Wack". That is the closest thing that I have officially heard
However, the two that I have heard thrown around at different tailgates are
"The Trainyard"- Our stadium is located next to a busy train track. Anyone who has been to our Stadium can attest to 2 - 4 trains passing the stadium during a game. It typically gets fans fired up, and they even play special videos on the Video/Score Board.
"The Hill Country Cathedral" - I didn't hear it until last year, when the West Side Complex was completed. It just feels massive to walk in on the Alumni/home side. With our plans to build out the stadium, I think it will look pretty spectacular in a few years.
Love "The Trainyard". The train always blows it's whistle because of the crossing right near the stadium. It gets the crowd fired up, which gets the team fired up. I would bet that 95% of the time a train rolls by something good happens for TXST on the field.

Montana State University calls their stadium (if you can call it that, its more like a field) the "Litter Box".

Woodward Field will be changed to Roos Field, which I have a good feeling will be referred to as either Big Red, The Red Zone, or The Lava Pit.

Our stadium's 'nickname' now is Mustang Stadium, seeing as how now it's named after the main benefactor Alex G. Spanos.

I hope Illinois State goes with Red turf as well. Then they could call their turf Maxi Pad Field, and every two years soak up a bunch of pussy purple period stains.clenz wrote:Pretty sure I heard it was going to be called Maxi Pad FieldScreamin_Eagle174 wrote:
