Our 37 wins (21 in conference) in 2009 were more than the Cowboys had combined the previous two ... conference wins the past three years SLU (52), McNeese (34).
You're right CC, we're a joke program

SELA 2009 37-22 2nd in SLC @ 21-12

Re: BASEBALL
grow up? okay and SLU recruited me. i have nothing to do with mcneese baseball so your acting like i give a rats ass. and what facts are you talking about? i never said anything about anything statistical all i was saying that SLU is a joke program
which it is no stat can prove that other than player testimonial and i can tell you that it is... now do you want to know what the LSU players think about paul mainieri? i can tell you that... or how about what tulane players think about rick jones? ive got more inside info than you will ever know from who players are doing in bed (not that i care) to why they chose a walk out song.
grow up my ass... lady your just giving me another reason to hate SLU and Hammond (the worst place in louisiana)

Not interested in the SEC or Big XII here. You were talking SLC baseball and so are the other posters here from MSU and TXST.
Ranting like a child will get you nowhere on this forum which is, by and large, comprised of FCS school fans. oh, and, BTW - you have MSU as your affiliation. If you're not a fan, change it.

SLU is rapidly rising. They rec'd several preseason mentions...
If TXST, SHSU and SLU take care of business OOC - it could be a two-bid league again this year. I'm pulling for all the SLC schools to do well OOC - beating the LSUs, Tulanes, Rices, Houstons and such of the world bolds well for us!

Re: BASEBALL
well someone in the SLC needs to win a regional, but nobody will win one hence the reason for 1 ncaa postseason bid... texas state competed well in the austin regional this past year. i have a few buddies on the Boston College team that said they (tx st) did well... i like mcneese dont get me wrong. i just know 1 of the baseball guys there and i know half the LSU team. hmmmm... now if you want to talk about SLC baseball = mcneese, nicholls, texas a&m cc, uca, sfa, sam hou = suck! they horrible. idk how sam houston is bad bc they have the former texas a&m aggie coach. maybe someone with some inside over there could comment? texas state is by far the best! from the facilities to the area of recruiting...

Same SHSU team that has gone to THREE straight NCAA regionals?Craneac Cowboy wrote:idk how sam houston is bad bc they have the former texas a&m aggie coach. maybe someone with some inside over there could comment? texas state is by far the best! from the facilities to the area of recruiting...
Same SHSU team that is 12-0 under Mark Johnson in the SLC tournament?
Same SHSU team that in 2007 - had the national closer of the year? And went to the regional finals after eliminating Southern Miss and Troy?

Re: BASEBALL
unlike obama i will admit i was wrong... forgot about the Sammy Houstons
Troy is decent i have a buddy that plays there. but the Sun Belt is now dominated by WKU and MTSU.
baseball is a wild game = fresno CWS champs, the citadel 1991 (i think) CWS appearance, oregon state and unc-chapel hill back to back CWS champ game appearances? its wild

Re: BASEBALL
App St has been rising in recent years. Had a 30-win season for the third straight year for the first time in two decades. Still got the usual baseball powers Georgia Southern, Elon, WCU, and The Citadel to deal with.

Re: BASEBALL
I got an email from the App assistant coach the other day. I wanted to go to App State so bad. I played summer ball in Morganton, NC this past summer and fell in love with Apps campus. I spoke with Coach Pollard a few times, but he never came to see me pitch. I met a few of the guys on the team because they played in the SCBL (Southern Collegiate Baseball League) with me. App State has a top 3 prettiest campus. I would put Pepperdine in the top 3 as well.

Texas State returns 19 letterwinners, five starters and nine pitchers from a Bobcat squad that won its first regular-season title since 1997 and posted its best record in program history with 41 overall wins and 24 league wins.

Re: BASEBALL
Can you all post how many guys you had drafted last year, if you know?
We had 7 (I think...will have to go back and recheck that,) including 2 juniors

7 also (4 juniors), in addition to 9 would've been-recruits. (Fullerton)CatMom wrote:Can you all post how many guys you had drafted last year, if you know?

Harvard has had zero picks since 2004 (?)
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Elon's schedule can be found here:
http://www.elonphoenix.com/schedule.aspx?sid=bb
I'm really excited that we are taking part in Rice's tournament (incudes us, Rice, Texas A&M CC and Nebraska) and that we get to host North Carolina. It's gonna be real interesting to see how we replace all the hitting we lost last year when we led the nation in home runs. We've lost I think all but 2 starters from last year, but we return pretty much all our pitching and Kennedy has always found good young guys to replace those who have graduated/left early.
Also, I saw rivals.com had a preview for the Southern Conference. I think his predictions may be a little off (I don't see El Cid winning it this year, but I could be wrong), but hey, it's better than nothing right?
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/baseball/n ... ocon012810
Also, 7 Elon players have been recognized by SEBaseball.com, including Jimmy Reyes being named pre-season SoCon Pitcher of the Year, and they have picked Elon to finish second in the SoCon.

10 days until the season opener against Towson and counting

Re: BASEBALL
Pretty poor schedule for Southern.
They are getting fewer and fewer Div I programs on their slate and are having to resort to exhibitions.
Just 12 Div I OOC games. Could have had 6-10 more easily based on schedule availability and who they scheduled.
