Eh, perhaps he's following George Bush's style of declaring "war" on Iraq...give them a three months' head start.mainejeff wrote:You've seen too many Transformer movies......youngterrier wrote:all I got to say is bring it...we may be stuck in 2 wars but if they're dumb enough to attack us and warn us about it before hand they deserve to get nuked

Not that we've ever really believed anything coming out of Tehran, but if they do what you're suggesting the Chinese and Russians can't continue to sit idly by since they've boldfaced lied to the international community about their nuclear aspirations.CID1990 wrote:They might unveil a nuke.
Not that the UN, China, or Russia will do anything about it - or us for that matter.

I wouldn't call them feisty, as much as I would say they don't give a shit what other people think when it comes to their own survival.ASUG8 wrote:Tru dat - they're feisty little buggers.....BlueHen86 wrote:

America is always in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. We have fought the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with kid gloves on. The sort of restrictions that make us look weak in the eyes of Al Qaeda. I know it isn't possible, but we should have paved Iraq and Afghanistan over with massive firepower and then wielded an iron fist. It is the only thing the Middle East understands.
Just glad I don't have to make the military decisions.

I agree - when it comes to military, airline security, development of cutting edge technology, etc. there aren't many countries as resourceful as Israel. They don't take any crap out of anyone. Of course, when nearly all your immediate neighbors have guns pointed at you 24/7 it probably helps to stay frosty.SeattleGriz wrote:I wouldn't call them feisty, as much as I would say they don't give a **** what other people think when it comes to their own survival.ASUG8 wrote:

Kid gloves?
We've killed over 100,000 civilians, Stanley.
As far as "the only thing the middle east understands..", that's also drivel. They'd understand something else real fast if we weren't buying their oil.

The 100K dead civilians has been debunked often and thoroughly. Don't bring that weak-ass stuff here.

Re: what is Iran's major shock on February 11th?
I'm less concerned with the 100,000 figure than the claim that they were all caused by the US. Sure, we've killed some civilians. That's what war is all about. But so has Al Qaeda, other outside Arabic resistance, and (probably the biggest source) Iraqi Sunnis and Shias fighting each other.
