If your crowd could put up a candidate worth voting for, then maybe that wouldn't happen.
The whimpering about Dubya not being a conservative is laughable. Just because repubs vote for Bush does not mean that they are happy with Bush. It means that they prefer him to Kerry and Gore. And seeing how a donk came into office and shattered Bush's record deficit I'd say those fears were justified.

You have the same thing on the left. Many of the leftists who are upset at Obama's repuclicrat NoChildLeftBehindian education policy and his continuing Bush's Iraqistan policy and his ignoring gay issues will more than likely vote Obama in 2012.

They are bitching about that giant turd of a stimulus bill which was several time the size of any stimulus passed under Bush.

They're bitching about the deficit that was bad under Bush (about 450 billion in FY 08') and has accelerated under Obama (about 1.4 trillion FY 09') and is projected to be almost as large FY 2010.

They are bitching about the bailouts that started under Bush and in 08' accelerated under Obama (more for AIG, Citi, GM and Chrysler, etc)

They are also bitching about things that weren't in place under Bush like that giant turd of a health care bill and economy killing cap and tax bill.
I don't recall these people in 2008. Only in 2009. Why so late? Oh that's right, we's gots a colored boy in da big house. Where were they in 2008 when Bush started the bailouts? There were a lot of people pissed off about the bank bailouts in late 08'. But the govt isn't running the banks like they are GM.

You didn't recall these people in 08' because it takes time for these movements to foment and:
-No massive pork laden, stimulus bill till 09'.
-No quasi nationalization fo the car companies till 09' (People used the arguement that the financial system would collapse if the banks weren't bailed out. Was no such arguement for GM & Chrysler).
-The deficit didn't more than triple till 09'.
-No giant turd of health care bill till 09'.
-No cap and tax bill till 09'.
-No broken Obama promises till 09' (the continuation of pork laden earmarks, same old special interest influence, lobbyists in the WH, etc).

It has nothing to do with a halfrican American in the WH.

There are a lot of pissed off liberals who feel Obama has kissed too much Republican azz already only to be spat upon while abandonning their agenda. With the Republican party being taken hostage by the lunatic Right, Obama will skate. True moderate Republicans are cowering in the shadows for fear of 'retribution'. As someone said, recently, Palin "is an empty vessel" being spoonfed with a bunch of cutesy sayings patronizing the fringe. For the R's to turn their backs on people like Romney, Huckabee or Pawlenty in favor of someone like her will continue to doom their attempt at credibility.

Hard to believe, but I agree with Baldy. GW was not a Conservative. He was a Nothing. He had no political philosophy of his own, but is much like Palin. No core belief, but just spouting the mantras that Rove and Company fed him. He was not Conservative in his spending billions for two wars without providing counterbalancing revenue; he was not Conservative in leading this nation into a 'nation building war' that he, himself in 2000, said was wrong. A bunch of R's sing the platitudes of Ronald Reagan, but, he too, was not a real Conservative as federal government and spending ballooned, especially in the military, under his administration and he spent wildly under the plan that creating such deficits would result in the reaction of pressure to cut back elsewhere, like social spending that many Conservatives eschew. However, that never happened, because no one really had the guts to cut Social Security and Medicare and Education. People now view Social Security as a pension plan, which it was never originally intended, but to which it has evolved in the minds of many. Look at all the "Conservatives" who lambasted the "stimulus plan" and yet are all over their home states and districts grinning in newpaper photos with those 'oversized federal checks' being delivered to all sorts of local "worthwhile" projects. IMO, the last true Conservative was Barry Goldwater.

The system corrupts both ideologies.

What about when he nationalized the banks? Seems that all I hear and read have to do with how bad liberals are. Conservatives have an equal hand in this mess. :twocents:
There were a lot of people pissed off about the bank bailouts in late 08'. But the govt isn't running the banks like they are GM.

You didn't recall these people in 08' because And it takes time for these movements to foment and:
-No massive pork laden, stimulus bill till 09'.
-No quasi nationalization fo the car companies till 09' (People used the arguement that the financial system would collapse if the banks weren't bailed out. Was no such arguement for GM & Chrysler).
-The deficit didn't more than triple till 09'.
-No giant turd of health care bill till 09'.
-No cap and tax bill till 09'.
-No broken Obama promises till 09' (the continuation of pork laden earmarks, same old special interest influence, lobbyists in the WH, etc).

It has nothing to do with a halfrican American in the WH.
halfrican? Grow up. So you're telling me, that after a minimum of 8 years, these people finally had enough and it just happens when Democrates take the White House? please, these people are transparent. Why wasn't they "tea party" established after the Katrina fiasco, or the Bush's Stimulus, TARP, etc...
Turns out I might be a little gay. 89Hen 11/7/17

:ohno: That's feeble, Ballsy; conservatives voted for Dubya unanimously. Twice.

The whimpering about Dubya not being a conservative is laughable. Not that he isn't not a conservative, that's not laughable, that's the truth; hell, that was obvious to anybody with firing synapses that looked; but Rush didn't tell your crowd, to look Balky, so you followed the lemmings right over the cliff, and now, once again, somebody else has to try to clean up the mess left by yet another so-called party of small government's excuse for a candidate ; the isinuation that your ilk wouldn't have voted for him if only you'd known he wasn't really a conservative, that's so laughable that you should be embarassed to even think about trying to throw that pussified bleating into the ring. Unless you're off your meds again, of course. In which case, please carry on. :kisswink:

Hard to believe, but I agree with Baldy. GW was not a Conservative. He was a Nothing. He had no political philosophy of his own, but is much like Palin. No core belief, but just spouting the mantras that Rove and Company fed him. He was not Conservative in his spending billions for two wars without providing counterbalancing revenue; he was not Conservative in leading this nation into a 'nation building war' that he, himself in 2000, said was wrong.
