I am not sure about the "Top", but if they are not they are close.

This is a great signing class. De La Salle is a great program. I remember when my high school Long Beach Poly went to Cal Bears stadium to play an exhibition game and we narrowly lost. It was a great game in a great atmosphere. De La Salle has top notch talent as does my old High school Poly. I can't to go see the expansion at Spanos stadium this year. I won't be able to catch any Liberty games in person this year but I definitely will catch some Cal Poly games since I live in Goleta and it makes it easy for me to catch one. I cannot wait.

Liberty Had an open date this year but filled it with Robert Morris and there were rumors that Liberty was contacting Cal Poly but the Stangs did not want to travel to lynchburg for an away game and vise versa. Oh well maybe next time.

I've heard that Walsh is a huge Broadous fan. Is he most likely going to start in 2010? Just asking, because I see no QB's in the class.

I think it will be a battle between Broadous and DeLancellotti this spring to see who will challenge Tony Smith. I could also see Ken Johston getting into the mix too.

Broadous seems like a nice enough guy and he and Walsh have the Portland connection going on- but Broadous had a hard time in his showings last year.

Broadous is an outstanding athlete who I believe was ready physically last year, but needed more time getting use to running the triple option.

Tony Smith is the returning starter, but I think he will have a battle to keep that spot. Broadous, DeLancellotti and Johnston will be pushing hard for the job. I am looking forward to watching that battle this spring. Spring practice starts March 31rst. Can not wait.

Haha.. thanks for that. He wanted to go to Stanford, but they wouldn't give him a full ride.

Depending on your degree, Cal Poly can be one of the better paying universities to get a degree at.

Besides Stanford, he received interest from Oregon State, San Diego State, Washington State, San Jose State, Cal, Utah State, and others.

But I assume a 5-star kicker has a CANNON for a leg, so why would he give a shit where he got his degree at? He's most likely goin' pro eventually, right? If San Diego State is offering a full ride, I'm spending my school years in sunny San Diego, man.

SLO is much nicer than San Diego.. besides, we've beaten San Diego State the last 2/3 times we've played:

What site was that kicker given 5-stars on?

And, I know USC was looking for a kicker. They offered a three star kicker and the highest rated kickers on Rivals are 3-stars. Surely USC would have been all over this guy. Seems odd to me... :?

He got 5 stars according to Chris Sailer Kicking.

Well, here's the list of the top kickers, and where they went: http://www.prokicker.com/news/footballrecruiting

here's the list of the top 50 kickers in 2010:

notice how he is ranked #9 in the country

A kicker is the one position on a team that it does not matter what level of competition you play because kicking a 55 yd FG is the same in DIII as it is at DI. If he has a cannon for a leg the pros will sign him weather he went to USC or Cal Poly.

San Luis Obispo has some of the nicest weather in the world and Cal Poly offers a top notch education. I can tell one thing for sure, I would rather kick at Cal Poly than in the cold of Missoula.

Agree with the first part, not so much about the second, but to each his own. SLO would be unbeatable if the old folks would just accept that SLO is a college town and that college students will always do what college students do. :ohno:

Ok, so we have to agree to disagree on the SLO/SD talk, but can we agree that SLO is a much better place to live than SAC? :)

SLO would be better than any of the valley cities/towns to live in. SLO just doesn't offer the employment opportunities as the bigger cities. I've had some good times in SLO so I've got nothing against it...it's just not better than SD. And yes, obviously we will agree to disagree. :thumb:

It is kind of hard to compare a city of over a million to a city of ~50,000.. and you're probably right about there being more job opportunities in a city that's 25 times larger..

The question always comes down to- would you rather live dealing with constant traffic jams and more pollution, or would you rather enjoy hiking, secluded beaches, wine country- with no traffic and great locally grown food?

Besides, San Diego loves us so much they named a street after us.. no San Diego street here. :)

Image
seven miles from town in two directions you run into the ocean, and some of the best beaches in the state (and you don't get in a traffic jam going to them).. below is Avila Beach. I know quite a few Poly kids who commute from here.

Anyway, great recruiting class huh?.. and :coffee:

There's tons of hotties here, don't worry..

Come on.. let's drop it, we have a winning record vs. "FBS" San Diego State, and put more yards on Wisconsin in '08 than any FBS team. Image
(click for better quality)

I'm excited for the Fresno State roadie and Montana and Davis here at home this year.. should be a big one.
