I actually had something in my response about how impressive it would be to actually steal a plane. BUt then I thought "Nah, couldn't be possible". WTF?

I only read that he had a license and flew A plane, not that he owned it.Ibanez wrote:Reports i've been reading said he owned it. link please.dbackjon wrote:

Federal officials told CNN the plane was a Piper Cherokee PA-28 they believe belonged to Joseph Andrew Stack.

No worries...msnbc is now saying 'his plane' instead of 'a plane'.Ibanez wrote:I'm trying to find the link...hold....bandl wrote:

When I read the article an hour or two ago, I was looking for anything that mentioned that he owned the plane, and there wasn't anything to that effect.

The ravings of a crazed man. I'm still trying to figure out what his beef is about?
His accountant didn't include income in his wife's tax return that she earned?
Huh?

There's a little rant on the Catholic Church that D1B would be proud of though.

Wait....you don't do that sort of thing with your lawyer buddies? How in god's name do you keep up with your profession?danefan wrote:He also talks about going to "tax code" readings at a friend's house.bandl wrote:

And keeping up with the profession is pretty easy. The core of the tax code hasn't changed since 1986. Obama's first budget proposal would have changed it dramatically, but he's since backed down (as expected).
Plus my firm pays people to keep on top of the changes and brief us (the practicing attorneys) when necessary. Its like cliff notes for geeks. The benefits of a humungous firm.

From reading the suicide note, it's clear the man was equal opportunity regarding whom he was angry at. He complains about income taxes, the IRS, the Federal Gov't in general, politicians in general, individual politicians from both the Republican (GW Bush) and Democratic (Sen. Moynihan) parties, labor unions, the Catholic Church, organized religion in general, the bailouts, the health care system, and a world he felt slighted him his entire life. What a sad, sad, man. I pray there were no fatalities other than his own.

Yeah - i got that feeling also. They guy doesn't appear to be a Tea Bagger as was previously mentioned. Just a disturbed guy who felt slighted by everyone and anyone who he ever dealt with.Just a bit outside wrote:From reading the suicide note, it's clear the man was equal opportunity regarding whom he was angry at. The thing that sticks out from the note is the sheer blind rage the man simply seems to have about everything and everyone. It's a trait that is certainly not limited to adherers of any one political belief. I've seen that irrational anger up closer before, from both far right Teabaggers and enviro-lefties I've known.danefan wrote:Yeah - i got that feeling also. Ruh Roh....I guess now Napolitano will not have to keep an extra close eye on left-wing groups as well (read the bold text at the end of his note). And we'll have to expand the DHS budget by $5 billion at least.

Somebody call D1B and make sure he's still with us.He railed against politicians, the Catholic Church, the "unthinkable atrocities" committed by big business, and the government bailouts that followed. He said he slowly came to the conclusion that "violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer."

Re: Small plane crashes into Austin, TX office building
Uh, did YOU read the note? The man was anti-tax, anti-government, anti-union, anti-religion. He was all over the place politically. The last line seemed like something he thought was clever ("I changed the word "need" into "greed", I'm such a f****** brilliant misunderstood genius!") rather than a declaration he was a commie. If there was one thing you could say definitively about the guy, it's that he despised the system as it currently existed, and blamed it for his failures in life.Pwns wrote:Ruh Roh....I guess now Napolitano will not have to keep an extra close eye on left-wing groups as well (read the bold text at the end of his note).
