Thats 2 in a row against the Lions. Way to go RMU
Wow, that was a high scoring affair. Leaving up 24 goals is not good!
I think think PSU took around 70 shots. RMU has a good goalie but a lot must have missed the cage. RMU has a bunch of Canadians and play "field box" lacrosse which can be very dangerous.

PSU should be a top 5-10 team a year I think, but something up there needs to change. I read that PSU played a no slide D until RMU had 20 goals. You have to make a change before it gets to that point. Also read that PSU players continued to play hard and fight even when down 11 at one point.

I know some CAA posters think that PSU is big upgrade lax wise over RMU, but I think RMU is legit this year and really could suprise some people.

Stony Brook got off to a hot start yesterday beating Sienna 21-14. Jordan McBride had 8 goals-6 in the first half for a program record. Next Saturday we travel to # 3 Virginia. I think our dfense is still suspect and we will really be tested against the Cavaliers. UVA wins - just dont know by how much.

Press Box is a free sports weekly here in Baltimore. I picked one up the other day, this is a pretty good pre-season top 15 breakdown.

"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Word is that UA took down Georgetown 9-8 in the last preseason scrimmage. Focused towards Denver on Saturday for the regular season opener.

Denver started the season 0-2 after losing to Syracuse (15-9) and Jacksonville (13-12 in 3OTs).

We should beat Denver for sure.

Caught me off guard for sure.

There are so many athletes in Florida. its only a matter of time before they start getting more lax sticks in kids hands.

I am still surprised Florida State hasn't made the jump yet. They have had a club team for a number years.

I'm dreading the day when more BCS teams sponsor varsity LAX. I think its a sport that can become as easily corrupted as footbball is and the schools that were in it at the beginning will be left out to dry. One can only hope the scholarship limits stay where they are now to give the non-BCS schools a fighting chance.

I think the scholarships are low now, but you are right-it is a sport that can grow and hurt a lot of schools. I think if more "FBS/BCS" schools come on they will probably begin to want more scholarships and then divisions, because under current circumstances I think current power schools will still get the recruits and the other "FBS/BCS" schools will be not be able to gain traction.

UMass has Ohio State this weekend...could be a 3-0 start...

I love how we haven't even played a game yet and have beaten two good teams in scrimmages and yet we drop in the polls.

Not that it matters, just funny.

The Hens jumped you based on the upset of UMBC. We're going to get a reality check tomorrow against Hopkins and you'll bump back up at least one spot.

Towson, and Maryland and UNC to a lesser extent, have been realizing this nowfor the last 5-8 years now. Though, Hopkins, Syracuse and Princeton will always be there at the top.

Yes, but teams like Towson, Maryland and UNC have been losing recruits to other non-BCS schools like Albany. The sport is still in a great era where smaller schools still have a chance and get the top recruits in the country - for example the Thompson brothers to Albany.

Once more major BCS schools get their hands on it that opportunity won't be there anymore, especially when those schools start throwing money at the good coaches like Scott Marr at Albany.

Similar to that I dread the day when a big programs starts up and they pull Pressler away from Bryant for huge money that Bryant can't offer.

How old is that? Delaware is already 2-1.

In other news, I heard on the radio in Annapolis today that Navy's top attacker Tim Paul is out for the season with a torn ACL.
