The playoffs is the thing for sure and it doesn't seem like a lot of our conference mates (fans) understand this as well as you do. Last year I had several discussions on here with Weber fans telling them that I would trade the BSC title every time for a SHOT at being a national title contender. Most Griz fans are glad when we win the BSC title but only because that gets you on the national stage.

But everytime ya get there you comin up short. Ill take that BSC Title over a 'run' for the title that you never won.

We've done something that EWU has never done and felt something that you have never felt so I know you can't understand it and I feel sorry for you on that front but EWU is just not at the level the Griz are at historically. I know this is hard for you to believe but as fans (not the players) it is just not as a big of a deal to win the BSC Championship anymore. Sorry but your perspective is local and ours is national.

On the other side of the coin I think BF has it nailed down on the games at Cal Poly & EWU. How can we as Griz fans say that the excitement level at Woodward will not have something to do with that game? Sure it is primarily the players and the coaches but to act like the environment will not have anything to do with it is just misguided. If that is the case then we better stop taking a lot of pride in our own environment.

It doesn't matter if you think red turf is gonna look good or any of that kind of shit. The only thing that matters is if it does stir up excitement, fan support, and a sense of pride in the team.

We have yet to see if the new turf will have this effect on the Eagles but judging from the small sampling of EWU fans I've seen on the matter it certainly looks like it could have the desired effect.
