An article in Newsweek has now revealed that McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, was receiving monthly $15,000 checks until last month from Freddie Mac, the mortgage agency that the government recently took over. In addition, the head of McCain's transition team, William Timmons, Sr., was a registered lobbyist for Freddie Mac until this month according to an article on Bloomberg News. His firm received $260,000 this year for unspecified work. Although McCain likes to rail against lobbyists and how he will put them in their place, having his campaign being run by people who lobbied for Freddie Mac cuts to the heart of his pitch as a reformer. This story is soon going to be all over the place (see for example, Newsday, the NY Times, and Roll Call).

McCain's Top Staffers Were Paid by Freddie Mac until Last Mo
Re: McCain's Top Staffers Were Paid by Freddie Mac until Last Mo
Another weak attempt to smear John McCain.
There's a huge difference between being paid $15,000 for performing contracted services and , let's say, cooking the books so you can get your $9million gold parachute like BHO's top economic advisor.
As for the $260,000 this year for unspecified work, the key word is work. OTOH, BHO received more than $100K this year in what may turn out to be illegal political contributions from a Corporation, Fannie Mae. Now you'll say John McCain took money from FM too but records show that since 1999 he received just over $30,000.

The article says that the payments to Davis company didn't start until the end of 2006. At that time Davis was gone from the company and no longer drawing any salary.
Rick Davis issued a statement this morning proving that The New York Times lied again. He divested himself of all monies associated with his company in 2006

Instead of addressing the issue, you bring in unsubstansiated smears...coastal89 wrote:Another weak attempt to smear John McCain.

So Rick Davis is the liar, unless he can PROVE, not just issue BS statements, that he SOLD his share of the firm.Mr. Davis took a leave from Davis & Manafort for the duration of the campaign, but as a partner and equity-holder continues to share in its profits.

Newsweek and the NYT are in Obama's back pocket and wouldn't let anything as inconvenient as the truth stand in their way of smearing the Elephants. Per Fox News this morning, there is absolutely NOTHING to these ridiculous charges.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

And Faux news is NOT in mcCain's back pocket?
FACT: Freddie Mac paid Davis' firm WHILE he was working for McCain.
The only way to disprove this is to show that Davis SOLD his share of his company prior to 2006.
Until then, the charges ARE VALID AND TRUE.
Re: McCain's Top Staffers Were Paid by Freddie Mac until Last Mo
So McCain is against lobbyists but will employ them while they lobby?
Turns out I might be a little gay. 89Hen 11/7/17
