The census is every ten years. However in 2000 the feds caught a lot of flack over the long form and the questions it asked so they changed their methods. Now the official census is every 10 years. Everyone will get a census short form in April. However beginning in 2005(?) they started this American Community Survey which asks questions that were on the long form. I don't agree with that. It says that an enumeration...a count...shall be made by such manner as they shall direct. That just says they decide how to make the count. When you're asking all the questions the Census asks nowadays, you're going way beyond counting people.
